There are some excellent beats on here but the bad ones are trash & shouldve never made the final cuts. 'Holy Ghost' is a terrible beat and to be #2? There is more quality than trash for sure though. |

Rhymes, concepts, beats, sense of humor, a point of view that doesn't sound generic and tired. A lot of dudes know how to rhyme, but Ap also knows how to make compelling joints and an album that flows seamlessly from song to song. Ain't nuthin in the world like a hungry MC. |

Not only is this album not mediocre but it sucks simultaneously. This fuck were never was dope rapper. EVER. Got that? It is HYPE, some clowns tryin to front as "underground supa gangstas and pimps". I never believe... never will. THIS is what you expected?????? $hit is exactly how I said. Nice underground sound (mockingly). This album is a mockery of HipHop and the bandwagon was still rollin when these clowns fell off it. I'm utterly unimpressed. Firstly, if the beats honestly don't BANG... which they do not, I find it hard to pay attention to what you're talking about. I dig both beats and lyrics but am a fan of words before tracks. But if I get over the beat too quickly then I hate it automatically. Only faggots like this. |

This album had a good buzz and Ap seemed like he was trying to put something together that would be more than an average attempt. Just look at the caliber of producers, premier, muggs, statik, stu and others. That being said and Im syre people will disagree, but the beats weren't that great. The primo was a let down (can't believe I said that) the muggs beat didnt really jive with ap's style, hooks were kinda corny, too many features in general. I did really like Albino Gorrillaz, 152 AM, check to check, Its only hip hop and peace conn. I was dissapointed in general though as I was thinking this would be a classic that would live on like Eastern Philosophy or Bapyism by fire (eventhough its not all orig beats)...I like apathy still but I think alot of these reviews praising this album are based on his past work. Hey at least dude is still doing it and making a living...Will see what the next effort is like |

Honky Kong is by far the best album I've heard this year. Haters of this album/artist are clearly either:

Comment: I've been listening to Ap tear the mic for 10 years probably, and Honkey Kong doesn't disappoint one bit. His battle style that has always been present with the evolvement over the years makes this one a BANGER! And word to his live performance too. finally got to catch him in Boston recently, and he's def. holding done Hio Hop. 5 stars all day, fan fo' life! |

I think the people that love it love it for more reasons than one...not only is it a great album with great lyrics and production but also you have to respect Apathy for paying his dues and putting work in. Technically it's his 3rd album but fans of Ap know between mixtapes, his bootlegs albums, and guest appearances, he has a very large catalog of music. RESPECT THAT. He's putting in work because he loves what he does and we love him for it. He's not a wannabe this or wannabe that, he's an artist doing his art. Leave it at that. |

You are not from the same neighborhoods, cities, state, or country in most cases. To discuss white rappers acceptance and wannabe gangsterisms is very dependent on where you are from. There are places where most people are fake, and places where the fake would not make it. There are places where if you are real with yours, in the 90s, it didn't matter who you were because you were known and part of a small circle of hip hop kids. Stick to letting people have opinions that are based on where they come from and what they've experienced.

I swear some of y'all get fucked in the ass every morning and take it out on the rappers you're jealous of. don't listen to their music, yet you take the time out to go on their release page and write some shit? who's really the one with personal issues? the rapper, or you? smh... |

I will never assume you're a Drake fan but claiming Apathy is a gangsta wannabe is based on... what exactly? Back in the days white rappers were automatically wiggers. So now we're calling every white guy wearing baggy pants and a North Face coat a gangsta wannabe? You apparantly don't know what it was like for a white rapper like Ap who started out in the '90s. If you battled a black guy back then, you'd almost have to be twice as good to win. So what you saying is disrespectul, because we have finally arrived in a time where hip-hop is universal and white rappers are (finally) generally accepted and respected if they are skilled by not only their colored counterparts but white fans alike. This man has paid his dues like many others and single handedly put Connecticut back on the map. If you would listen to the album, you'd see Ap is much more than a "gangsta wannabe". |

I dont like weezy because I think his music is horrific, not because of his persona... at the end of day, if it doesn't appeal to ears first, regardless of the content, it's not gonna penetrate your brain, therefore you won't like it. if ya wanna be educated, read books. |

Right, first off, this is hands down THE best hip hop album of 2011! Let me explain, if you know ya real hip hop or know about Ap since '97 onwards... then I'll leave any back story... Ap is a simply incredible MC (yes the best white MC if you wanna go there with skin color) in many ways, no doubt a top 3 in todays real hip hop world. This album right here is brilliant.... you can easily see how much love this guy has for the art of pure hip hop... let me stop praisin dude and get onto the album... WOW... unskippable all the way thru... Beats are for the most part very very good. I would say there's maybe 2 or 3 ok beats but far from weak... this ain't a problem for Ap as he absolutely destroys every track he spits on!!! You can even hear the guests steppin up they A game to stay on a par with him, that's how good Ap is, don't front, don't sleep. So, beats mostly good, a few definite bangers (Check, Stop What, I Dedicate to name a few) but it's the MC himself that really holds the album together... who else in recent years has, purely on lyrics/flow alone been able to elevate an album to another level, regardless of guests or beats. Ap, I salute you for droppin an amazing piece of hip hop artistry... Please please please do an album with Action Bronson!! you know it makes sense. Peace |

"Takini" name one french rap album from this year that's better than this... Yeah, I'll wait. This is dope, raw boom bap the way it was supposed to be. Instead of hating on Ap for being a white rapper, cause basically that's what it comes down to, congratulate him for keeping boom bap alive, you suckers! |

For $15, you are getting two full CDs - no snippets and no bullshit - straight up dope underground hip hop. Disc 1 is an album where damn near every track is a banger. Disc 2 is a 7 track EP and the entire instrumentals from every song on disc 1. Seriously people, how can you go wrong? I also want to mention that '1:52AM' reminds me of 'School' which is one of my favorite Apathy tracks - such a visual track, I literally have been getting chills every time I have played it. BUY THIS NOW - I promise it is (little) money worth spent. |
