and the split personality concept has bin recycled too many times. and his voice jus sounds corny on the beat I guess. |
Name: issphitikozs (Posted: 12/18/2003 8:06:00 PM) Summary: Not Too Bad At All... Comment: All personal prejudice aside from beefs or whatever..I liked it.. I don't care what anyone says... the beat is sick.. and his lyrics go nicely.. plus he's riding the beat perfectly, although I'd say I could rock the beat nicer... I'd give this a 3.5/5 |
Name: J6N (Posted: 12/10/2003 11:34:00 AM) Summary: Eso Pack Up Your Mic And F*ck Off! Comment: F*ckin hell, Eso is so astoundingly wack! How the f*ck did he ever get such recognition? Here he is going at Cage again, and doing a bad job of it. This is utterly pathetic. 7L's beat is aight, but it doesn't suit the subject at all and just ends up making it sound a whole lot more corny. G**damn, Eso just leave the game. |
Name: thisisofficial (Posted: 7/25/2003 3:02:00 PM) Summary: This Is Wack To Me Comment: I don't like this at all. Sounds corny and amateurish. Eso needs to pick it up lyrically…the beat is very average.

Name: sunview (Posted: 2/12/2003 2:58:00 PM) Summary: No, No, No... Comment: Esoteric is a bad lyricist since his flow and delivery is boring and robotic. 7L's beat is okay, but gets kind of annoying quick. Naaah, don’t go wasting your money on this sh*t.

Name: Dirty Pee (Posted: 2/9/2003 4:13:00 AM) Summary: Nah Comment: Battle stance is suspect. Pitch or note of sample is DEFININITLY off(if they meant to do it, it ain't work). NO real lyrisim(did I spell that right?). Anyway, it needs work. |
Name: spademan (Posted: 2/1/2003 1:34:00 AM) Summary: Oh Man This Beat Comment: This 7L guy always has a hot beat to rip on. |
Name: Robin Crates (Posted: 1/22/2003 8:55:00 AM) Comment: Boston veterans 7L & Esoteric bring the grandiose stereotype full force with this new single "Split Personality." This sounds like the same personality though, ignorant ranting and driving production on the part of 7L who laces a hype beat for Esoteric to rock. The single is in the same vein, as the last 7L&Eso releases, which the content includes non-stop battle rhymes and battle-oriented beats. Although this track is jibber-jabber, I can't front on 7L&Esoteric who for a decade have represented the strong Boston hip-hop scene....and have built prominence as a ongoing and universal force to be reckoned with. |
Name: sense one (Posted: 1/16/2003 10:59:00 PM) Summary: Response Track??? Comment: The beat on this track to me is dope. But I'm not feeling Eso on this song (lyrically). To me it sounds like he's trying to respond to Cage's Haterama Pt.1 where Cage get's at the brick record label. And if that's the case, then Cage won!! |
Name: sense one (Posted: 1/15/2003 3:08:00 PM) Summary: Bad Reply Comment: The beat on this track is dope. But Eso don't kill it. I think this was his reply to Cage's “Haterama pt1” were he talk's about the whole Brick Records. I hope this wasn't the real comeback track. If it was, Cage gave it to him.

Name: tammi503 (Posted: 1/13/2003 9:00:00 PM) Summary: Umm, The Background Beat Kinda Runs On, And Getts Annoying Like The Buzzing Of A Bee. Comment: This is good, no doubt, but maybe the background beat shouldn’t be never ending. Like I said, it is annoying, I was almost relieved when it was over. But it is good.

Name: reightious (Posted: 12/28/2002 11:35:00 AM) Summary: Evident Skills, Tight... Comment: Lyrics and flows are tight but the beat doesn't move me really. Eso and 7L do a good job at covering it up though.

Name: D.L.C. (Posted: 12/25/2002 12:17:00 PM) Summary: Solid Showing! Comment: 7L and Esoteric are sounding a bit edgy as of late- and we're not minding that one bit. The aggressive production from 7L match the eager intensity of Esoteric's vocal performance. Given the right timing, this record could bang in the clubs but is perfect for the jeeps and headphones as well. If you're a fan already, you don't need selling. If you're new to this duo, this will insure you'll check for them in the near future.

Name: jordan10304 (Posted: 12/24/2002 10:10:00 PM) Summary: 7l & Esoteric Keep It Moving... Comment: This sounds like a continuation to "Word Association" but it works. They have been very consistent and are keeping the hot joints coming, with the production being the main highlight of the song. I'll definitely have to add this one to my collection.

Name: phobikone503 (Posted: 12/24/2002 4:21:00 AM) Summary: 7l Does It Again, As Well, Eso Leaves You Thinking Comment: This has to be the best duo in hip-hop -EVER- and I don't care who agrees or not. The beat is grimy and ill, battle stance style... I like the quick repeated stabs throughout, most tracks can't do that and not get annoying, but it’s more pleasing to the ears here. Eso just laces himself back and forth cutting and chopping himself to shreds, till the end gun shoots. So many punches that I can't choose one, so listen and see what you like.

Name: hiphopanonomis (Posted: 12/23/2002 10:52:00 PM) Summary: I Heard Better From 7l And Esoteric But U Know It Sounds Like An Eminem Wannabe Comment: Nice track! Thumbs up cause of the lyrics, but the beat is kind of stale, though it doesn’t hit you, doesn’t move your head.

Name: Quest (UGHH Staff) (Posted: 12/20/2002 10:24:00 AM) Location: UGHH World HQ - Boston, MA Summary: Dope Track You Won't Find On "Dangerous Connection" Comment: 7L & Esoteric can't seem to do any wrong as of recent (granted, they never really have done wrong). A dope song where Esoteric is arguing with his split personality (reminds me a lot of the movie, "Me, Myself, and Irene") :) If you liked their song "Word Association" (which is fantastic), you'll probably like this track as well. Note this track is only available on 7L & Esoteric's new 12" entitled "Herb", available in the UGHH.com Online Store. |
Name: direct14 (Posted: 12/19/2002 2:41:00 AM) Summary: Slammin 7L Production Carries This Hot Track Comment: Not being a huge fan of Esoteric I have to say this is a must have in any DJ's rotation. 7lL laces this track lovely especially during the chorus with a hot background effect . Esoteric sounds focused on the mic and the chorus only adds to the flavor . Only downside is the track is too short, another verse would have fit perfectly. 8/10 |
