Name: absente (Posted: 12/14/2003 5:26:00 PM) Summary: One Of Acey's Best In Awhile Comment: I was surprised to see Ace One with RJD2, but it was a pleasant surprise. I'm constantly reciting the hook which usually isn't Acey's strong point. All around good sh*t. | Name: Humpy McBalls (Posted: 11/23/2003 5:19:00 PM) Summary: Beat Is Bananas, Dat Bout It. Comment: RJD2 doesn’t disappoint. I heard better from Acey, so I’m disappointed there.
| Name: Freejazz23 (Posted: 11/3/2003 6:04:00 PM) Summary: Pretty Good Comment: Yeah I agree that Ace is sounding a bit weaker then usual, but I don't care what anyone says, because of RJD2, this track is pretty tight. RJD2 is not overrated he is a sick DJ. | Name: krux (Posted: 8/6/2003 2:16:00 AM) Summary: A Damn Shame Comment: I hope Acey will revert back to “Accepted Eclectic” or “Book of Human Language” cuz this album is weak. I caught his show which was aiight and scooped up his album the next day. I was entirely too disappointed. I recommend it to only the die hard Ace One fans. I'd say a third of it is good. The rest is hard to listen to with knowledge of his previous work. | Name: bored at school (Posted: 7/28/2003 12:40:00 PM) Summary: Not Bad Comment: Not terrible, but yeah, not all that great. Still worth a listen, but overall pretty average.
| Name: ronjeremy (Posted: 7/27/2003 1:22:00 PM) Summary: Trite, C'mon Punk! Comment: Damn, I agree with sfg2k that RJD2 is a bit overrated. Some of his stuff is dope, but in my opinion he digs far too deep for any new jack to dig. sfg2k, as far as "trite" it means the same, usual, banal, cliché. Yo, check your dictionary or go back to 10th grade. Oh yeah, Acey has definitely lost some potency...long live the Fellowship.
| Name: sfg2k (Posted: 7/17/2003 10:34:00 PM) Summary: No Ab Rude Comment: Dope track! RJD2 is overrated, and to the reviewer, what the hell is trite?
| Name: Paul (Posted: 7/16/2003 2:33:00 PM) Comment: I've heard not-so good things about Aceyalone's new LP, which is a shame since he is one of hip-hop's most criminally underrated MC's. Despite the poor buzz on the “Love Or Hate” LP, "Lost Your Mind" is pretty good, mostly thanks to RJD2's production. Acey sadly doesn't really sound like himself on the track. His flow seems to have been watered-down, and the rhymes are surprisingly trite on the first few verses. He starts to pick up the slack around the end, but it still can't help the track out too much. The only thing that sounds halfway like Acey is the hook, which is still kind of weak. Stick with “Book Of Human Language” and Acey's other work, and give "Lost Your Mind" a spin for its beatwork. |
