Comment: The intro rolls in spicy, but the bland back-beat left me thinkin', still going? The midpoint break is a relief, lyrically, but the static is still prominent. I liked the white-bread-nuts line, clever.

Comment: O.K. so you don't like one line Musab uses. However, this is a fairly unique simile to use for "nut." How many emcees would have come up w/ that analogy? None but Musab. You all need to go and buy his new album, lock yourself in a room, and listen to it repeatedly for 6 hours. At first it will sound wack to you. However, soon your tiny little elitist ears will begin to expand and you will realize that Musab is possibly a more gifted emcee than Slug. He just hides the antidote in w/ pimp/hustler themes to sell the story. Really, does anybody listen objectively/intently anymore???? |

Comment: Ant has to be one of the better producers of late. Incredible sounding drums here with drums that you don't hear anywhere else. Slug hits hard with this track and flows so raw it’s like eating a hamburger at Jack in The Box back in ‘93. Divine is nice as well, though not outshining Slug. Musab is evidently not your average Atmosphere MC, but he's not bad, but definitely the only line that stands out is the Wonderbread comment. Comment: Lately Slug has been giving us tastes of his ego in larger doses. I for one am in favor of this. It works okay here as, he and I Self Divine, welcome Musab and Aesop Rock to the remix of their track "Flesh" from “God Loves Ugly.” Aesop holds his own but I'm not sure about Musab. At one point he compares his "nut stain" to "wet Wonderbread." You can decide for yourself if that's funny or stupid as hell. |
