Slug is just simply the best at lyricism. | Name: alison (Posted: 1/7/2004 3:24:00 PM) Summary: Choppy Comment: The intro rolls in spicy, but the bland back-beat left me thinkin', still going? The midpoint break is a relief, lyrically, but the static is still prominent. I liked the white-bread-nuts line, clever.

Comment: At first I wasn't feeling the beat that much, but I read that review of the guy above me and realized you don't hear those drums no where else. | Name: pennies from seven (Posted: 1/18/2003 8:36:00 AM) Summary: You Are All Stupid!!! Comment: O.K. so you don't like one line Musab uses. However, this is a fairly unique simile to use for "nut." How many emcees would have come up w/ that analogy? None but Musab. You all need to go and buy his new album, lock yourself in a room, and listen to it repeatedly for 6 hours. At first it will sound wack to you. However, soon your tiny little elitist ears will begin to expand and you will realize that Musab is possibly a more gifted emcee than Slug. He just hides the antidote in w/ pimp/hustler themes to sell the story. Really, does anybody listen objectively/intently anymore???? | Name: mr. marlos lampos (Posted: 12/2/2002 1:35:00 AM) Summary: Everyone Knows Beyond Kills Sh*t! Comment: Where is Mr. Gene Poole, and what happened to head shots? Nice remix though. What happened to Dynospecs? "Pay me anyways…let your body go where your brain won’t take it, through many phases…many phases."
| Name: hiphop_mexica (Posted: 11/22/2002 1:02:00 PM) Summary: Wet Wonderbread? Comment: Man, I'm sorry but I just didn't feel this track at all. Although Aesop was tight everyone else fell flat to me. I've heard better beats from Ant, and to me, this just wasn't one. Sorry, but not good enough for me. | Name: Supreme_AxiS (Posted: 11/20/2002 11:37:00 AM) Summary: Tight Comment: Feeling Slug and Aesop's off-beatness (Aesop's off-beatness). Strife is alright, but Musab had some stupid-ass line that wasn't funny. I mean, Slug and Eyedea can have a song discrediting Ludacris yet they got worst rappers in their crew. I hate that sh*t- stop hating. | Name: PhobikONE503 (Posted: 11/19/2002 2:36:00 AM) Summary: Ant Is The Man Comment: Ant has to be one of the better producers of late. Incredible sounding drums here with drums that you don't hear anywhere else. Slug hits hard with this track and flows so raw it’s like eating a hamburger at Jack in The Box back in ‘93. Divine is nice as well, though not outshining Slug. Musab is evidently not your average Atmosphere MC, but he's not bad, but definitely the only line that stands out is the Wonderbread comment. Aesop Rock, the man can flow in so many ways, and fits intricately here while saying a lot. AESOP FOR PRESIDENT! | Name: Enoch The Dreadnaught (Posted: 11/18/2002 7:23:00 PM) Comment: Lately Slug has been giving us tastes of his ego in larger doses. I for one am in favor of this. It works okay here as, he and I Self Divine, welcome Musab and Aesop Rock to the remix of their track "Flesh" from “God Loves Ugly.” Aesop holds his own but I'm not sure about Musab. At one point he compares his "nut stain" to "wet Wonderbread." You can decide for yourself if that's funny or stupid as hell. |
