Comment: A satire of the music industry in a very funny, somewhat scathing way. Bas and Fanatik describe the makings of an "instant rap star" from the point of view of an label exec. The humorous, contrived voices give the track a more light-hearted tone at times, but the rhymes convey the dark, shrewd, and twisted aspects of the industry. The rise and inevitable fall are both depicted with an "instant rap star" becoming a "rerun on VH1." Ouch. Clever concept and worth hearing at least once. |
