| Name: DJ Sho Nuff (Posted: 9/27/2007 4:45:00 PM) Comment: I have just decided that I love all hip hop tracks titled “Yes Yes Yall”. Matter of fact, I probably would love all tracks of any genre (country, house, jungle, emo, salsa, electro, anything) assuming it had the title “Yes Yes Yall”. Slipwax provides the soundscape and it’s busy and ominous. Bugged out the first time I heard it. Felt like Big Shug, GZA, and Bomshot all met up on the set of Terminator II and had to drop verses in order to save planet earth circa 2080 from apocalypse. All three emcees kill it with short, on-point verses. There is a short, no frills, anti-sugar, fuck R&B hook, but what the hell else would you expect in apocalyptic 2080? Big Shug sets it off proper, then passes the baton to Bomshot whose flow is as tight as I’ve heard it. GZA anchors the squad, absolutely murdering the beat. Slipwax wisely kills the track right then and there with GZA’s final words echoing into the future. |
