Comment: Since day one Dead Prez hit us with some heart stopping lyrics and opened up our eyes about the government and its ways, which has inspired plenty other emcees. Any CD by Dead Prez is an excellent album. They are indeed the real People’s Army. |

Comment: This track is definitely solid, one of my new favorite songs. As a matter of fact, I think it's one of the better singles I've heard in my short time exploring this website. Dead Prez may have spit racist sh*t in the past, but this track strays from that path. My only beef wit' it is that it's too short. Sometimes it's better to separate the art from the artist and recognize quality. Sh*t, I don't listen to the radio anyways!

Comment: Dead Prez, is by far, one of the best rap groups in the rap industry today and this album just proves that even more. I do think their old album “Lets Get Free” was slightly better, but “Turn Off the Radio” is still off the hook!

Comment: To begin, I can easily hear Missy rhyming over this beat. Dead Prez's lyrics could be written by your average sixth grader, their styles are generic, and complaining about what's on the radio is not exactly original. Other than the fact that I can't stand Dead Prez for their constant racist comments (I can't stand racism in any form), their just no good any way. If you're looking for someone that talks about these same types of issues, but in a way that has some artistic merit, check out Saul Williams. He's far better than Dead Prez, plus, to my knowledge, he's not a freaking racist. |

Comment: I have always admired DP's afro-centricity in hip-hop. This track is very well blessed with the lyrics and the production although it is a beat that may be kinda hard to get used to. It's almost like the spin-off from there single "Hip-Hop" only the beat kinda drags. In addition, the creative skits added onto the track really shine and give a powerful message to those "hip-pop stars" out there. |

Comment: Put aside all the political righteousness that Dead Prez comes with and you’d have a decent group. Add a dash of consciousness and you have pure sickness- the good kind of sick. Yo, these cats, M1 and Sticman, have a message and each and every one of their songs has something to say. Never have I listened to a Prez cut and dismissed it for an avant-garde dope track, but rather their music made me think and “Turn off that Radio” does just that. “What’s on the radio? Propaganda, mind control, and turning it on is like putting on the blindfold.” Sh*t’s potent! Granted the beat is not gonna make Grams walk again, but it’s off the scale in its own. Sick of the same ol’, then turn off that radio and turn this on. |
