Comment: LA’s finest underground (no longer under Capitol Records) crew put out another boom-bap banger together with long time affiliate Alchemist. It seems like Alchemist went nuts on the production tip as evident to his drum patterns and so does DJ Babu, who cuts up the records like he owns the third verse. Both emcees Rakaa Iriscience and Evidence never sounded so dope embedded on another Alchemist production (check out “Back Again”, “Live On Stage” and “The Platform” for further proof in the pudding). Dilated Peoples are the West Coast equivalent of Gang Starr, where they constantly bring forward the classic hip-hop sound of hard hitting beats and stone cold lyricism. Cop doubles of this! |
