Comment: This cats got talent by the multitude his flow is reminiscent of Biggie or Nas at its best. Stringing strong catch-phrases non-stop seems to relax but get his point crystal clear without even trying to impress. I'm definitely a fan.

Comment: When tracks with really good production get remixed, in many cases the remix is incredibly weak compared to the original. Since DJ Premier layed-down a dope instrumental for the original "Sayin' Somethin'" by Ed O.G., a remix would seem kind of unnecessary (see Encore's "Filthy" remix). That said, the production here is quite nice. Kon, D-Son, & Supe lay down a nice piano sample and some other effects to create a beat somewhat similar to the original, but different and good in its own right. Ed comes pretty nice on the mic marking his big return into the world of hip-hop. This remix surprised me. Although, I still like Primo's original better, this is still very good and worth checking out. |
