Comment: And to break up the monotony of hip-hop's self-serious streak comes Exile with a bouncy, carnival-esque beat that possesses a certain goofy fun that's missing in this post-Pharcyde landscape. It's not goofy to the point of grating, and Dr. Oop and Aloe Blacc's nostalgic lyrics fit the tone perfectly. It's been a while since I've seen something from Dr. Oop, and the "those were the days" kinda mood, although done before, is sincere enough to work out well. If something a little bit light-hearted is in need for your daily listen, "I Remember" is an apt pick. |
