Simple flowing melody with Jean's realness cutting through every beat. Love, love, love Love Song. | Name: lil self (Posted: 11/10/2003 3:50:00 AM) Summary: "open Ya Ears" Comment: Jean Grae, what can I say the best female emcee I done heard in a while she got mad talent once her name is out there she ain't gonna be stopped. Her lyrics are better than most of these male artists out now, she spits a lot of bars without making it seem like a long song (listen and love her album). | Name: Paul (Posted: 10/19/2002 3:25:00 PM) Comment: Jean Grae? Nice. Beatminerz? Even nicer. "Love Song"? Not as nice as it could have been upon first listen. Jean Grae's graphic, bittersweet, sad stories of love is pleasing and above average, but the uncharacteristically mellow production from the Beatminerz will leave something to be desired. It seems like a solid groove isn't established. The woodwind sample is nice, but the drums never kick although you'd think they would. Halfway in to the track, it begins to work. A second listen will probably prove more pleasing than the first due to the expectations that first listen carries. | Name: yungshy (Posted: 9/17/2002 5:19:00 PM) Summary: My Favorite Song On The Album Comment: In a world full of pop music, wack MC's, silicon breast and fake people, Jean Grae proves to be real not only a female MC but an all around MC. I also love the song that was sampled so it was a win/win situation. | Name: brownstudy (Posted: 8/26/2002 10:09:00 AM) Summary: Kept My Attention. Comment: BMs hooked up a nice, surprisingly relaxed jazzy instrumental for Jean to drop her compelling spleen over. Cool. | Name: pluto365 (Posted: 8/24/2002 5:06:00 AM) Summary: Nice Comment: Nice mellow track by Beatminerz. I think it’s a stylistics sample but the drums are ok. Jeans lyrics are tight. Definitely one of the best female MC’s out there. | Name: BenBombay13 (Posted: 7/21/2002 12:07:00 PM) Summary: Interesting Topic Comment: From one of the dopest female emcees, the topic of this cut along with the lyrics of trials and tribulations of relationships is nice. |
