Comment: Yo this track is completely nuts. I like to hear it everytime I get mad @ someone. It helps with that alot. Jeru needs to release another album and cut another record with Premier @ the helm of the turntables and bless us true rap heads of the 90s with some more sick beats like this one. Comment: This has to be one of the illest hip hop songs of the 90's, DJ Premier is in full effect. From the second the beat kicks in, you know that you are about to listen to a classic. Jeru comes correct with the rhymes. It's a shame that hip-hop artists don't make songs like these anymore. |

Summary: Best Hip Hop Song Of All Time - Period
Comment: This is clearly my favorite track of all time. This is Jeru The Damaja's first single and definitely his best one. The beat is classic DJ Premier production, with an Onyx sample from 'Throw Ya Gunz' for the chorus ("Uh Oh!/ heads up, cause we're dropping some shit!"). This song is also one of the most sampled that I can think of. So many hip hop songs have sampled snippets of Jeru's verses. I'm currently on my 8th and 9th copy of this 12" single (you NEED to have doubles of this single). I learned how to do many juggling tricks with this 12" and I still wear out copies of this single on the regular. Jeru and DJ Premier – thank you for making such an incredible masterpiece. After thousands of listens, I still can't get enough of this song! |
