Comment: This is one of the smoothest joints I’ve heard in awhile. Juice rips this one from the heart! The one thing I love the most about this track is the melody which forms between the chorus and the lyrics, and also the fact that he stays on point throughout the song. If you haven't heard 'Sincerely' (also by Juice) you should hear it, because they both have a good straight from the heart vibe. Check it. |

Comment: Well, no false advertising here. Juice does indeed bring "ill hip-hop" on "Ill Hip-Hop." Oh, and how. The beat here is incredibly alluring as a very emotive and sullen piano sample meshes with some unobtrusive R&B backing vocals. Juice spits some nice verses about his history, his rise to notoriety, and the subsequent changes hip-hop has seen since then. Most interesting is his commentary on his 2000 defeat at the hands of Supernatural; instead igniting beef, Juice shows compassion and respect, using the experience to progress artistically. The last Juice track I review was subpar, but if he continues along this path, all is well. |

Comment: This low-key release from freestyle legend and Chicago native Juice is one of the sleeper 12-inches right now. Juice's rhyme is essentially a jab at Eyedea, the Blaze Battle fiasco and his superiority on the mic. Really sincere effort from a MC who's really being overlooked. |
