| Name: Shambhala (Posted: 10/19/2002 3:24:00 PM) Comment: I've been trying really hard to find something bad to say about this record, and the only thing I can think of is that when I first heard this song I didn't really like it. However, after one live show and a bunch of times putting the needle back to the beginning of the record, I'm definitely won over. Just like in 'All Word No Play', Joe Beats has outdone himself yet again. This beat is also very mellow, with a very Prozac-like feel, that winds up coming together well with some dope samples and drum work. This track is very reminiscent of Sage's True School Sessions on 90.3 in Rhode Island, with a much lighter, funny side of Sage being shown. It's a definite contrast to 'Majority Rule', but a good one nonetheless. Some of the lines he drops in this track should have you rolling, unaware of the fact that you just got secretly served. |
