Comment: A song which made Bush tremble and scared the hell out of white America, while bringing the reality of the ghetto to the rest of conservative America. One of the better joints in all hip-hop, truth, and not this studio G crap.

Comment: Without a doubt, this joint is a true hip-hop classic! In my opinion, N.W.A is the most influential band of all time, not just regarding hip-hop music, but also music in general.
Nowadays, folks have tossed the gag around their mouths out the window, and say what they want on a record, and N.W.A is the foundation of that. What makes this record here so fresh, is that it is authentic hip-hop. It has all the vital elements, from emcees who use true skills, the DJ cutting and spinning the breaks, and the straight up boom bap. Top it off with a topic that is as much conscious and political as it is gangsta. N.W.A took what Public Enemy had done, and turned up the intensity. This is the true form of “reality” or “gangsta rap”, not no watered down “thug” bullshit. Commercial says 2pac & Biggie are there influence. Underground says that Rakim influenced them, but folks like to forget that N.W.A inspired them both.

Comment: No holds bar discription of the brutal L.A. police force and their discrimination. This is a song that helped get N.W.A. on the maps. Great combo of then to be future all-star emcees. |
