Comment: The Platinum Pied Pipers came out in 2005 with a two hot singles “Act Like You Know” and “Shotgun” off their debut album (both featuring the late J-Dilla on both) and kinda disappeared from sight. This G.O.A.T. Remix produced by Wajeed (of the Platinum Pied Pipers) is a decent remix on the rock sample tip but can’t seem to fathom the sonic genius of the James Yancey version. J-Dilla made songs that are so hard to remix, and for some to outdo, it almost seems damn impossible. I do give dap to Wajeed for a decent effort in doing so though. |
