| Name: Skillz Philly (Posted: 6/18/2007 9:59:00 PM) Comment: It’s been too long since the “Last Boy Scout” graced hip-hop with new material. One half expected Rampage to show up on one of the milk cartons XXL Magazine publishes in its issue monthly issues with a sign reading “have you seen this artist?” above Rampage’s mug shot. Or maybe that’s already happened. Either way, as Rampage’s first single since 2006’s Have You Seen? album, the Flipmode Squad Lieutenant delivers a ball-busting barrage of healthy hip-hop over the punchy grittiness of Just Blaze’s music. Though Rampage’s lyrics seem trivial in some spots, the tough-talking attitude and addictive sounds back up Rampage and his vocals can’t be ignored. |
