| Name: Decypher25 (Posted: 6/11/2004 1:36:00 AM) Comment: One half of Def Jux’s Cannibal Ox (minus Vordul), Vast Aire represents lovely together with the Beatminerz (Evil Dee and Mr. Walt) on a hardcore posse track, aptly titled “Posse Slash.” Vast Aire is up to par with some of the finest underground lyricists, most notably Breeze Evahflowin’ and Poison Pen. Aesop Rock does his unique verses once again, and the Beatminerz provide a rough and rugged drum pattern that the likes of Onyx and M.O.P. would be proud have in their respective albums. While most posse cuts are less remarkable nowadays, this one sticks out like a grimy monster truck in a parking lot full of Bentleys. |
