Comment: Owl Hours is definitely one of this years greatest albums, and is surely some of Awol's best work ever. I'm already in danger of playing this out because I've had it on non-stop repeat. It's mega slammin' to have such a diverse cast of featured artists come together on a project while the album remaims completely cohesive with a unified sound. The Xzibit track is off the chain, Stand Up w/ Myka & Aesop bangs hard, and Back Then is a beautiful track featuring the underrated God Ceschi, and Greggory Pepper (who plays instruments throught the album). 'Celebrate' and 'Destination' are some of the dopest tracks I've heard in a minute, with Awol doing what he does best, his completely unique and original flow unlike no other. Factor is truly an amazing producer, with mad diverse styles abounding throughout this near perfect album. While I thought the duo's last joint together, 'Only Death Can Kill You' was pretty classic, 'Owl Hours' raises the bar to a whole new level; this album can be appreciated by most anyone not just fans of 'weird' rap or whatevs you wanna call it. Awol is a legend and Factor will surely become one if he keeps dropping heat like this, support this album and support artists doing something different and original Owl Hours is the shit! |
