Item Summary
Known for his classic hard core style, no-sellout attitude, and a true life story that would make the most street minded A&R envious, rhyme animal Blacastan is sure to cement his name in the annals of hip hop.

Growing up in Hartford, CT Blac began to take an interest in hip hop music during his teen years, but it was violence and street life that took up most of his time. Thanks to his strong-arm style while taking care of business, a 16-year-old Blacastan was tried as an adult when he was arrested in the mid-'90s. Serving his sentence left him plenty of time for listening and writing. He favored the underground sound of the Lyricist Lounge and Soundbombing series along with artists like Nas, Mobb Deep, The Wu Tang Clan and Pharoahe Monch. After digging deeper and deeper into the underground while working on his own rhymes, he emerged from prison with an impressive skill set, a throwback style, and an unmatched drive and determination. His first mixtape Me Against the Radio became a favorite in the underground and an internet cult classic, especially it's key cut and video, "Life Of A Tape." Appearances on releases from Blue Sky Black Death, Krumbsnatcha, Jean Grae, Esoteric and Apathy followed. The extremely limited CD-only Master Of Reality mixtape with The Bladerunners (7L & Beyonder) garnered the emerging rhyme juggernaut even more momentum.

So now the resurrection of realness reigns supreme; a return to the hard core east coast hip hop that many have forgotten or turned their backs on. Many, but not Blac. And his peers and fans are responding. The full length opus entitled "Blac Sabbath" is finally here. The debut album boasts production & vocals from some of the elite in the game: Statik Selektah, Blue Sky Black Death, Mr. Green, Colombeyond, Esoteric and Celph Titled.

So dust off your hoodies and timbs, twist the cap on the Olde E, split the dutch and get ready to experience the sound that many are dubbing the 'savior of underground rap music'.

Homeboys and homegirls, The Blac Sabbath is here.

ADDED BONUS - Enhanced CD includes an exclusive photo shoot by legendary street photographer Ricky Powell aka the fourth Beastie Boy. 48 Hi Res JPEGS in total.

Comment: Apathy's production sucks. He needs to stop making beats and focus on being an MC. I was so dissapointed when I bought "Wanna Snuggle". The price on his album was $17 and then with shipping was more like $21. I wish I could see Apathy and whoop his ass and get my $21 back. Blacastan is way 100x Doper than Apathy. Blac Sabbath is in my top 10 albums for 2010. IDE's album Ideology is the best for 2010 so far. Creative Juices!!!!!

Comment: "Blac Magic" is by far the best beat on this album. All the beats should be like that. By the way, "YHATE," the hell are you talkin about, sayin Apathy's beats are garbage. I agree that his new album sucked compared to his debut, but his production is nowhere near garbage. It just wasn't dark enough on his new album. Tracks like "Slave" were fuckin RIDICULOUS and more of them should have had that sound. By the way again, I think Blacastan was on that track ironically...

Comment: Cmon yall....5 stars??? I mean, I know we all miss that real hip hop, but 5 stars? I dont know about that...I listened to the whole thing today, and, hell yeah, it's got that good ol hip hop sound of course. BUT, you gotta admit, a lot of the beats coulda been a little better. THEY'RE STILL GOOOOD. But, they could have been better. I was expecting a little more production-wise. Blacastan's an animal though. On the other hand, as we all know, many times when we first listen to a new album, we don't think it's that great. I hope this is one of those that keeps growing and growing on you...WHY WASN'T APATHY ON THIS SHIT??

Comment: You know your album is official when the only negative thing a hater can say about it is dont get sued for a sample. Congrats to the homie Blacastan for saving hip hop!!!!!

Comment: yo lawyer, you're a fucking herb. Ozzy can't even think anymore, never-mind sue someone; I love black sabbath, but what hate on this project because of the name/sample? If anything, as a fan, respect it because someone is doing something ill with it 40 years later. That being said, this shit is crazy, cop it. peace
