    Product Details

A major contributor to the independent Hip Hop scene for a decade, Cage (aka Cage Kennylz) returns with a greatest hits CD comprised of his classic singles, most notably "Agent Orange", which sampled the theme from Stanley Kubrick's film A Clockwork Orange, which also played on his alter-ego, "Alex the Worm King"; tracks off his two Eastern Conference Records albums, Movies For The Blind, Weatherproof - both of which sold over 20,000 copies; collaboration efforts, and previously unreleased tracks. Known for not only his music and legendary beef with Eminem (each claimed the other had appropriated the style of tightly controlled delivery and unsettling subject matter), but also his life story. Many of his lyrics were inspired by his experiences in a mental institution as a teenager. Cage has become the focal point of a proposed Biopic to be written and directed by Hollywood star Shia LaBeouf. The Best and Worst of Cage is comprised of 19 songs fueled with energy, angst, and top notch production.

Comment: Now that this album is listed on other websites, this site should update the label. People would not think it was released on Eastern Conference if this site didn't state that it was. It would be nice if the songs were remastered, but they are not that old so how much better can they sound than they already do. Cage recently stated that this is an album for the "starter fan" plus there are no official greatest hits albums by him, making it an excellent purchase for anyone who has never heard Cage's music.

Comment: Wow, EC trying to rape some old Cage material. That's low shit even for them. Chris called it on Hells Winter and Eon and Mi are baiting right into it. LAME! Besides if you are a Cage fan, you already have this stuff anyways!

Comment: none of this is "previously unreleased" and "filling a contract obligation"? how many years later? doubtful, this appears to be more of a dickmove by ec than anything else.

Comment: "Cage is now cool with E.C" You sure thats the case? Cos if Cage's description of them as "liars and scumbags" is true then perhaps they are releasing this without his consent, after all they own all the rights to this, and why would he have anything to do with releasing a best of album which featured nothing of 'hells winter', his proudest work.

Comment: make some new material. in order to have a best of you have to have some hits. Cage is dope but he is an indy act that no one really knows about. Unless you are a big rap fan. this is just eastern conference trying to scrap up any commerce that they can.

Comment: I love Cage. Ever since I first heard him on Pete Nice's album, the track Rich Bring Em Back. He tore it up. I think he always dope. He puts in 110% in every rhyme. You gotta respect that.
