Comment: its been a pretty incredible summer for indie hip hop releases - killer mike, el-p, bigg jus, doseone, open mike eagle, aesop rock and more have all dropped exceptional albums... but then ANX came out, sonning everything. it can only truly be described as beautiful, in the purest sense. when I describe the theme of the album, anxiety, to some heads they give me a weird look, but this is not a depressing album, it is a transcendent one that will literally make you feel better even if you've never experienced anxiety. Zavala's unparalleled, incomparablely genius production incorporates such incredible sounds and tones they literally feel like they heal your brain; and the critically underrated Onry Ozzborn comes with a impeccably focused clarity to his rhymes on ANX as opposed to the (also ridiculously dope) abstractions of Vessel. ANX is a perfectly flowing album w/ 14 masterful tracks, no skippers, no filler. Never Cry Wolf is one of the greatest 'pop' songs i've ever heard - it should be playing on every radio station if the world that made any sense. Do your soul a favor - buy this album, play it for all of your friends and spread the DTS love!!! |

Comment: Wow, the music on this CD is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. I'm normally a boom-bap kind of a guy, but the music on this CD is so damn refreshing it's ridiculous. My hats off to the producer Zavala, who created an amazing instrumental landscape for Onry Ozzborn to rhyme over. I could certainly see this group being the next group to blow up and I am going to make certain to see them live whenever the opportunity presents itself.
