There isn't any actual lyrical content to be had, not even in a "just having' fun and rockin' the party" style. His lyrics are mundane and repetitive to an insanely annoying degree. (Yes, we get it. You're Sir DZL. Alright already). And the flow (if you want to call it that) is so pathetically sloppy. It's way off rhythm, and not even in a sort of creative way. It's just lazy, semi-rhyming shit talk towards some sort of imagined enemy.
The production was pretty decent. However, its completely devoid of turntables, and that is a major let-down for a so-called hip-hop record. Almost every song is just a sample with a bit of a breakbeat added in, repeated all the way through. There are certainly no musical dynamics.
Lame. It's just a really lame attempt at hip-hop. Compare this LP to "I Wish My Brother George Was Here," and it's a downright depressing shame. |

I mean, people like yourself feel like they are the official critics of ALL hip hop albums that come out and most likely have negative shit to say. Album has dope beats, Del is on point with his rhymes and delivery. Dope artwork. What the fuck else is there?? Do yourself a favor and STOP over complicating music. |

Name: Meister (Posted: 6/23/2012 2:04:00 PM; Partial IP: .17.12.179) Location: Seattle Comment: Del has been in a slump for the last 7 or so years. Something happened and he just kinda lost his flow, messages, and overall rhyming skills. He's simplified everything and dumbed it down while also getting increasingly cheesier in the process. He also seems to be obsessed with talking about how funky he is and constantly reminds us of his moniker, "Sir DZL" multiple times on each track. Luckily, when Del has someone else handle production, we get a nice album like this. We don't have to listen to Del's own super-busy flipped out production, but instead get the excellent Parallel Thought. This allowed Del to focus more on writing lyrics, and he comes pretty strong on this album. There is so much spitting on this that he doesn't even include choruses at times! This is the best Del album since Both Sides of the Brain and/or 3030. Amazing production, and pretty darn good lyricism. Preview it, then buy it. It's harder and harder to find quality shit these days. |

Hasn't had a good solo album since Both Sides of the Brain and then the Tame One album was pretty good. This album is straight garbage once again. |

Needs to hang more with his immediate crew, ease away from the pills and get back to what the underground is expecting from him. |
