But once I did...WOW!!! Instant underground classic album. My joint is Just can't Quit, but theres alot of other one on here that are just as good. You haters need to get a damn life because this is what real hip hop sounds like. |

There are TWO good beats on this album. That's it! Everything is else is average as a muthafucka!! TOTAL LETDOWN. I'm not the only one saying this. You wanna know good beats. Good beats are what you heard on Celph Titled's album, "Nineteen Ninety Now." Those were fuckin ill beats. Apathy fucked up. |

You know you done fucked up?? You idiot!! When did it ever come across any of the Godz minds to say "hey, I think APATHY should produce the album." Are you fucking serious?? The beats are fucking WACK on this album, pointblank, period, and I can ASSURE you, THAT is why this album got a 3.5 instead of a 4.5. Yo AP, "Dead In The Middle" was FIRE, but the rest were total and utter shit. How could you make such an ill beat like "Dead in..." and then make total wack shit after that? Look man, it's been 11 fuckin years since yall put out your debut EP, "The Godz Must Be Crazy." That shit was fucking bananas compared to this, Celph Titled on the boards was a muthafuckin animal! Just about every beat was FIRE on there! And you're gonna call the album KILLmatic, knowing the anticipation for this album is HUGE, and you're gonna go and fuck it up by your shitty production...I don't even know what else to say. Fuck that, I downloaded this album. I have never ONCE downloaded ANY Apathy album, official mixtape, or anything. Even the Premier beat is pretty shitty. Better than the one on "Honkey Kong" for sure, but that's not sayin shit. Even the three or four beats that weren't yours were wack too?? What the fuck?? I can't believe I am literally pissed off about this album. Apathy, you're a fuckin hip hop connoisseur, you know what good production is, and you put this garbage out. And Louis Logic leaving the group, that's another fucked up thing, because he was an ANIMAL and the chemistry you, him and Celph had was incredible. I agree with this rating. 3.5 at the MOST. Maybe even a 3. Seriously can't believe you didn't have either CELPH or CHUM make the beats! WTF AP? |

To everyone saying they wanted Rise on this... I don't really think you do want him on here. If you've heard any of his recent material in the last few years it is horrible and he has wayyyy fallen off. Listen to the Rise and Avid Record Collector album for instance... Where is the Rise that was killing verses back in the early Demigodz days? He seems to have lost it, so he definitely wouldn't add to this album and all it would be is a disappointment for those expecting him to rap like he did in 2001. That said, the rest of the crew really did great on here and Ap, Celph, Eso, Ryu haven't missed a step... The beats are strong here and the sound is dark (which I like).. I'd hate for these guys to go back to the goofball silly rap that plagued a lot of their early stuff. Just like dude below asking for Majik Most to be on this album....my god would that ruin the vibe. Dude is funny but too much of a clown and does not fit on here. Plus he wasn't a DGZ member anyway, only a homie of Ap and Celph's. Either way it's a dope project and you should all be happy that it got released and appreciate the work that was done here. |

I figured this crew would have lost their steam but I was wrong. Everything is good here, the lyrics/flows and the beats. Some cool scratched hooks here and there but not overdone (I hate the generic fake Primo cuts that plague every underground release nowadays). Subject matter is lacking but that's not what you listen to a Demigodz album for. They did have some cool concepts/themes like Just Can't Quit being a weed type of joint, Tomax and Xamot tackled G.I. Joe perfectly, Captain Caveman stuck to its theme quite well. Every MC in this group is top notch.... of course Apathy and Celph Titled really stand out because of their colorful mic personalities and killer lyrics but I'm definitely wanting to hear more from Motive and I've been bumping nuff Blacastan material. Eso and Ryu are veterans as well and they definitely came correct on everything they spit on. Overall it's a dope album...positively worth a cop. |

Name: Dayz (Posted: 3/6/2013 12:26:00 PM; Partial IP: .112.135.3) Location: Delaware Comment: First off I want to say I am a huge fan of all of artists involved. Styles of Beyond is my favorite rap duo ever and I have purchased every LP/Single/EP/etc.. by everyone in the DGZ collective. I'd put Ryu, Apathy and Celph Titled in my top 10 MCs of all time any day. Nineteen Ninety Now, Honky Kong and Reseada Beach still get spins daily in my household, let alone going back and listening to classics from them all. Czarface is incredible been listening to that on repeat these days, Boston Pharaoh/1212 hell all the 7L & Esoteric releases are classics to me. The collective's first LP The Godz Are Crazier is a bonafide classic and I still enjoy listening to it quite often. Perhaps due to over two decades of classic upon classic released by all these super talented artists my expectation level for this LP was at such a high level that nothing they could release would please me but I must say I am a bit disappointed. A lot of the production was just ho hum to me. No songs sound bad by any means just they aren't that exciting and sound just average run of the mill. Lyrically Celph Titled kills with this metaphors and punchlines as always and while no one drops a total dud of a verse I feel like many of the verses were lazy and phoned in. I have heard everyone on here excel at the craft of writing and delivery and I feel they just didn't put their best foot forward on this project. I want to love this LP, I really do, and perhaps over time my expectation level will wane and I'll learn to appreciate it more than I do. Also perhaps with all the quality music they have released in the past couple years that I still listen to regularly is holding back my appreciation for this project? I hate saying anything negative about these guys cause they really are some of my favorite artists ever but for now it did not live up to the hype as I had hoped. I will continue to listen to it and continue to purchase and support all of their music and artistic endeavors! DGZ! |

Apathy really impressed me with his production ("Dead in the Middle" just simply is a heater) and I enjoyed the other tracks from the heavyweights like Premier and Marco Polo. The MC's in this crew are on another level and I can't stress how many times my jaw dropped at some of the lyrics on here. Celph Titled stood out quite a bit due to his unique voice and extremely clever punchlines (I dunno how he doesn't run out of them or fall off, amazing)...Apathy sets off most of the songs and murders everytime the mic is turned on. Ryu of S.O.B. is always enjoyable as part of DGZ and I wish he was on more joints as well as Esoteric who impressed me on this album. Motive is a solid MC and one of the best newcomers I've heard in the last couple of years is Blacastan. I have all of his Brick Records releases and they get heavy rotation in my crib. I give this album a 9/10 and it's very much worth the purchase. I'm especially appreciative they pressed it on double vinyl as not many albums are coming out in that format any longer..... To the people trashing the production on here, I have no clue how you can come to those conclusions...Probably just kids trying to shit on these guys for whatever reason. There aren't many albums this good that are released in a year...Looking forward to anything these guys do in the future.... And bring on that damn AOTP "In Death Reborn" album already too! |

Beats are dope, so glad they featured Eternia on a track, shes def the illest female emcee and her history with the DGZ is well written. Really really pleased with this release. I'm a rather recent DGZ fan,(2 years max) and I can say it album is nice decent really, production being handled mostly by Ap killed it. Ap is a dope producer but he shouldnt have done so many for this. beats from 7L, Celph, C-Lance would have been nice.
Lyrics are dope, but beats not so much.
I feel like Ap's Army of the Godz should have been place for killmatic.
Giants On The Earth
Nice intro
Demigodz Is Back
Dope track many get annoying with the rocky sample
Dumb High
Nice track
Never Take Me Out
Good track
Just Can't Quit
Kush track, track I don't really like, wack in IMO scoop shouldn't even be on Killmatic
Worst Nightmare
Nice primo beat, but I was expecting better for killmatic yet alone for the demigodz
Can't Fool Me
Annoying beat, listen to it, you'll see why
DGZ x NYGz
Start great and drops, Beat wise but isn't too bad, shouldn't have the intro
Dead In The Middle
Dope track sample was creative,.
The Gospel According To...
Good track
Raiders Cap
Dope track beat is nice
The Fallen Angels
Nice beat. Was expecting something more epic for a title like that. Still good.
The Summer Of Sam
Dope track, snowgoons merk
Tomax & Xamot
Only AP & Eso, nice track.

Ap made some good beats "dumb high" "demigods is back" "dead in the middle" all bang! Sho doesn't like a Rocky beat? I thought best track was "DGZs vs NYGs" 5 stars for face melting lyrics alone! |

The lyrical performances were on point, but a lot of the beats just ruined some tracks that could've been straight fire. Ap's beats on wanna snuggle were way better than this. Should have got 7L on this joint after the bangers he put out on czarface. Celph killed it and wish there was more ryu but his jawns were all sick. Demigodz has one of the illest clicks but the production is lacking. I'm not saying all of it, just those half ass joints that could've pushed this album to another level. |

Sure. Shit, if I listened to Lil Wayne I'd think this was garbage too. How's that new tight pants movement going for you? Pretty good? |

Production was much better than I expected and the vocal performances were top notch. If you see hatred for this project it will be from white kids who resent other white guys making legitimate "hardcore" hip hop. They only want to see black rappers doing minstrel shows. AP super lyrical , Celph is a MONSTER , Ryu is a beast , motive steped his game up big time and blac kills it . 90's vibe to the beats . Love this album. Lou Logic was one of my favorites till Apathy exposed him for the fraud & fuck he really is. He played Ap & Celph for ca$h, booking shows overseas w/ no deposit money, missing planes & gigs etc. Ended up wearing skirts on stage and shit.. disgraceful. And that from an emcee with such potential and unique style. I'll still bang his old shit with the Godz Jay Love & JJ Brown but cannot support him nor take hime seriously anymore. You can add Ap on FB and see for yourself if you don't trust my words. Peace |

Name: Dialectic (Posted: 3/1/2013 8:44:00 PM; Partial IP: 177.112.49) Location: Athens, Greece Comment: Just saw Apathy & Celph live here in Athens, dudes took rawness to another level. Early purchase for us, can't play it at this time of night but from the 5 -6 tracks I've heard both online and live, this sounds mega. All six of these emcees are some of the best to ever do it. Their EP from years ago trumped whole LP's at the time on creativity, talent and ruggedness alone. The underground has its worthy supergroup and this 1st full LP is the crowning achievement of a decade's worth of hard work, beats & rhymes. Props to Apathy for keeping the unity and not just being a frontman but the backbone of Demigodz.. Best bunch of emcees and Fuck anyone who dares to differ. Peace from the east |
