Best album of 2010 so far bar for bar. Yes there is an emphasis on punchlines/metaphors/unreal multisyllabic rhymes, but he does it on a hungry young Em, Juice, Chino XL, Royce, Elzhi type level IMO. And on top of that there are 4 or 5 deeper tracks that are good to AMAZING as well. 12 shots, Reasons, Behind Bars, Modern Day Slavery, REALLY PPL!?!? Fire), Truth Part 2, Loose Cannon, 12 Shots (classic), Modern Day Slavery, In Common (He Kills Bis's Lazy verse), Behind Bars (classic Slim in 99 Rock bottom shit) |

Diabolic is a fucking BEAST, his talent with combining multi-syllable rhymes can't be discussed. I think Engineer, who produced this album is dope, uses some crazy samples and drums..but I wish he could use some other type of drums and patterns once in a while, they are the same on almost every beat.
Besides from that, this record is one of the best that has dropped this year so far.
And its waaaay better than the AOTP record imo.

Name: Apathy vs. diabolic (Posted: 4/12/2010 7:33:00 PM; Partial IP: .128.72.11) Location: RI Comment: I'd say depends on the subject matter, apathy can write some pretty funny songs about women, and he is good at explaining topics, he
s good with chorus and giving meaning to his raps (expresses them well)...diabolic has amazing wordplay and lyrical skill better than apathy I believe, but sometimes its so I'll to listen to his multi's and metaphors that I almost forget what he's rhyming about... I think you can't really compare them honestly they bother have different substances when its comes to making music. I pick Diabolic to win between them though because he has skill in making musics and free styling, and I think he explains what he feels on the mic very well, those type of rhymes that give you chills when you listen to them; plus he has a different type of style compared to everybody out in the game, and to hone his skill would take years of long days. Yet his hidden track he did with Immortal Technique at the end of Dance with the Devil was written on the way to the studio in the subway... hahah that right there shows he has perfected the art of rhyme...... |

For the topics at hand, you'll be hard pressed to find a better album. Diabolic delivered a damn good album with this one. Here's to hoping he follows it up with another release soon. |

Every track is tight and Diabolic rips it on every track the production is tight and the dope verses that the guest spots spit.
60 min of straight raw grimmy hip hop. For all the real hip hop heads out their this is a must buy. peace |

To me thats an emcee that satisfied hes listeners, and its clear that most of hes listeners isnt retarded and they know a good emcee when they hear one. Diabolic is the ideal hip hop artist. 1 |

He has better metaphors and multi's than every other MC on the album... the only thing he lacks is the rugged delivery that Vinnie Paz has and the anger that Technique has. Aside from that I'd say he's a more gifted MC than the people rapping along side him. |

Name: Rugged (Posted: 4/1/2010 3:44:00 PM; Partial IP: 54.209.159) Location: MA Comment: Some people here are saying he's being generic, but it's not like he just started spitting. He's been spitting for a long time, Immortal Technique had him on his first and second albums, that was a while ago. I think people are saying he's being generic because they're paying too much attention to the fact that he's white. I've never heard a black rapper be called generic for this kind of style. |

Diabolic goes all out on every track, he might not be on the level of Technique, Bill or Paz yet but really... who is? Diabolic's identity, is the result of his old life. The low profile cat, you see out standing on the corner, selling reefer, constantly on the lookout. This album is one of the best and most consistent albums I have heard in years, this is everything I expected and more. |
Name: truth c rum (Posted: 3/31/2010 6:33:00 PM; Partial IP: 195.29.232) Location: stains Comment: pretty solid lyricist, but no identity on the mic. good guests but diabolic isnt winning any fans over with his personality. solid beats. he got killed by every guest emcee on the album. thats not a good look. again some dope lines here and there, but diabolic isnt doing anything new, and originality is what seperates you from the pack. decent album. |

Oddly, he has most of the cats who's coat tails he's riding on the cd.
EXCEPT, he isn't nearly as nice as tech/bill/paz etc.
That being said, given that they are on the album leads me to think one of two things.
1. dude is a real dude and the shit isn't a gimmick, just being a generic pissed off grimey white rapper; which bill and paz are not just to be clear.
2. dude some how got the cash to get these dudes to spit on a track.
regardless, real or fake, he really isn't that nice, esp. assuming an overwrought role. but who knows, I could be wrong.
not trying to hate though, wishing success; much better than that bullshit top selling on intunes etc. |
