These young cats have shown an older head like myself that there are SOME artists in the new generation that respect the music/culture. Dope, melodic and soulful beats coupled with conscious thought provoking lyrics puts this miles ahead of the more mainstream releases. |

Name: Mello (Posted: 8/27/2011 5:07:00 PM; Partial IP: .239.48.34) Location: Seoul, Arizona Comment: These dudes are talented. At 20 or 21, what we're you doing? I know wasn't anywhere near this skilled. Dunc is one of the illest out there on production. For those who don't know him yet, he produced The SHining on Diamond District's debut In The Ruff when he was like 18 years old. And Toine as an emcee is one of the most creative lyrically. I'm sure it helps that Oddisee has been mentoring them since high school and that they routinely make tracks with some of the DMV's best (Kev Brown, yU, etc...). I got to give it up to Drew Kid as well for killing the keys. Congrats to both Dunc & Toine on Makin' Dollas (DTMD) - stellar debut. |
