"auralac bags" is OK. "top instructors" is ill, I agree that shit is nice. "the groove" is trash. "dump truck" is by far the best beat on here. "due work" is Ill too, so is "odds is cracked.". Other than that it's a letdown overall I think |

When you find out he produced a beat, you're like, "Oh no!!" No but honestly, he is capable of much better than this, WTF is up with these garbage ass beats? I realize Alchemist only made like 5 of the beats, and his aren't that great either. You people do not know what you're talking about. Have you even heard all of Alchemist's shit, especially from the 90's? He has beats 1000 times better than this. And again, STOP FUCKIN RAPPING, ALCHEMIST. You're lowering your value by doin that shit, you sound stupid as fuck. |

I may be a minority here, but I was an enormous fan of Gutter Water which I thought was more on point for both Alc and Oh No's musical styles. Drink Up with Marciano is, in my opinion, the best track on this album, and the only one that really enhances this duo's sound. All in all kinda disappointed with this one, Gutterwater is still in my rotation over this. |

Very original and different in its own right. I think this album is more solid than the first. first one was the intro to the group so I love it just as much. crack! |

It can be enjoyed song by song but listening through it's entirety you really get a dope experience! Production is just insanely choice. definitely a contender for LP of 2012 and it's barely February. I have listened to it straight through over 20x and it keeps sounding better each time, to me that is what a true "classic" is! BUY THIS ALBUM NOW!!! |

I was really expecting better beats, man! This is still a good album but I thought it woulda been way better. These are some weak Alchemist beats, man. also, Alchemist, another cmon son! STOP RAPPING man! You're a producer, not a rapper, you sound dumb when you rap! |
Name: NorthSUn (Posted: 2/2/2012 12:06:00 AM; Partial IP: 252.49.152) Location: home Comment: Gangrene comes through with an amazing project once again. Solid from start to finish, just as good if not better than Gutter Water. My only issues would be that ALC is starting to loose the bass lines in his tracks, and the rhymes seem a bit cloudy at times. But when it comes down to it, this album gets play after play while I can barely make it through other critically acclaimed albums, listen and find out for yourself. |

Name: McNulty (Posted: 2/1/2012 12:18:00 PM; Partial IP: 33.212.103) Location: Miami, USA Comment: Overrated. Weak, weak beats, especially considering how talented ALC and Oh No are behind the boards, I expect better than this crap. Lyrically, its the same generic, uninspired crap that makes most underground releases lame. |

Name: E-RokStEadY (Posted: 1/28/2012 1:08:00 PM; Partial IP: 222.247.20) Location: NorhtEast Comment: They took V&A and topped Gutter Music. Wow, didn't think t would be possible. I was impressed with how well they mixed the boom bap with their own invention of grimy-psyche-drugged out hip hop. Great features, inspiring, inventive and microscopically engineered production, and raps that were taken to the next level make Vodka And Ayahuasca an incredible album. I hope they Gangrene keeps up the pace and releases their third album around the same time next year. Already excited for the next installment. Cop this today kids. Don't do drugs. - E-RokSteady |

Name: FILI (Posted: 1/25/2012 5:27:00 PM; Partial IP: .210.42.91) Location: London, UK Comment: Dope follow up to Gutter Water, which was one of the most slept on albums when it dropped back in 2010. This album continues in the same vain, beatwise and lyrically, if it ain't broke etc etc.... The last album had both sharing equal production and lyric duties with Oh No being the standout of the two. I preferred Alc's beats on Gutter but he ups his spit game on this new release which makes it a more enjoyable listen as Oh No is superb with both beats and flow. I think Oh No's beats here are better here but only slightly.... maaan this dude is sick with it, a lot like his bro Madlib but has his own distinct style. Top top release for the start of 2012. One last thing, having Prodigy on here is a big fat NO NO, dude is finished. |
Name: Daddy Green (Posted: 1/25/2012 2:00:00 PM; Partial IP: 2.5.144.20) Location: Dallas Comment: love this album. ALC and Oh No put together another solid piece of work. If you liked Gutter Water you'll like this just as much, if not more. Its got beats that are undeniable hip hop head bangers but also has some others that take a while to grow on you. Listen to it front to back and you'll see what I mean, its an experience. Hip Hop from two very creative minds and I'll definitely be buying the physical copy. Oh and the skits inbetween songs are trippy and funny as hell. These dudes are real crate diggers and obviously got their hands real dirty diggin to make this album. Nice work fellas and PLEASE bless us wit a 3rd Gangrene album in the future. Peace |
