Prince Paul takes another Approach to production in 94 with horrorcore, seems to fit the lyrical style of the RZArecta. You wont hear him rhyme like that anymore, but am pumped to see 'The Man With The Iron Fist'. With all the hype about Odd Future and Gravediggaz, lot of kids gotta do their Homework before they say anything stupid. Coming off with the persona of this type of style aint original for Odd Future so respect is due to the pioneers of this style for paving the way. I personally think the Gravediggaz were more intense with their delivery and rhymes and imagery in their lyrics. Im biased because I grew up on the best of the 90's Hip Hop. The production between Gravediggaz and Odd future in comparison from now to then are completely different. Its typical for groups like Odd Future to use the same drum patterns and how they use it like every other groups in the mainstream in 2012 with the note repeat on high hats and its so played out as oppose to using funk drum break loop samples and keepin it raw the way it is. The choice of drum machine Prince Paul used was the MPC 3000 a solid machine sounding dirty. Today's technology through computers for producing has surpassed the days of the stand alone drum machine. I prefer the nice an dirty sounding sp 1200s and the Akai MPCs and a whole lot of sampling from obscure records to create sound collages. Coming back to this album for me is nostalgic because it came out in a time the internet was not established yet and the users experience is in a whole lot different situation as to compared to the high quanity downloading of the digital age from the internet and easy search engines, digging and discovering is all too easy nowadays. | Name: explicit (Posted: 9/10/2010 2:21:00 PM; Partial IP: 40.220.253) Location: queens Comment: i remember back in 1994 I was ten when I first saw the promo for this shit I was like what the fuck wanted this album bad but I was messing up in school so years
