The mixing of tracklisting is terrible cause it is not diverse. The songs should of been more longer and the tracklisting should of been shorter. Some of the material were already released to fans years ago so I didnt really see the point of that. But in all, the music still sounds good but I think pete rock should of left this one alone. IMO, best beats are smoke, 9th caller, coming back, and kjay we out. |

It might sound bad to them because it has a grittier and more hardcore sound to it, but none the less its a blast to listen to. Dilla does go all out in this. The best song has got 2 be Blood Sport, if not 9th Caller. |

So how on earth can you ask such a ridiculous question man for real? Then again you're probably dellusional due to the consumption of too much weed to think that I possess telepathic powers to sense your opinion. Jeeeez you're hard work!!! |

You will clearly see that I stated that dre's production LACKS AUTHENTICITY/ THE SOUND OF LIVE INSTRUMENTATION I NEVER STATED THAT HE NEVER USED LIVE INSTRUMENTATION ON THE CHRONIC!!!! As for comments on the other artists from different genres Nirvana is 'sub-pop' a form of rock yes correct for once but Metallica was originally a thrash metal act mellowing out over the years. Thrash metal is across over between metal and punk. Rock music is closely related to metal and under the same spectrum but if you call any metal fan a rock fan especially thrash/death/black metal genres check the response you receive you tool!!!So don't test me on different genres of music son!!!
As for your comments on rap and hiphop??? I laughed when you used KRS ONE as an example cause he has actually stated in multiple interviews that rap and hiphop although related are not the same. Many other artists of the culture have also reiterated this statement but I can't be assed to list them.
As for the verbal abuse yeh man real mature and oh!! I forgot Vanilla Ice and MC Hammer are true hiphop icons lol!!!
Calm down man as you are a real embarassment on this site and no one respects your comments!!!!Dilla forever R.I.P |

Name: AC (Posted: 10/10/2009 4:11:00 PM; Partial IP: 68.196.211) Location: PLYMOUTH, UK Comment: datn*ggabeon1 your knowledge on beats is well obviously limited at best. Yes Dre is bigger than Premo so f**kin what??? To dis Premo is just plain ridiculous as his production talents and beats are just plain dope and raw and his music relates to the essence of hiphop culture. Dre's beats are less syncopated and more simplistic than Premo's (if you don't know what the word syncopated means go ask a qualified music teacher, as my technical explanation will consume most of this this page. As for Dre's production its too clean cut for me and lacks authenticity (i.e the sound of live instrumentation) and his music sounds like it was produced on a cheap yamaha or casio keyboard.
Who gives a ???? that Dre allegedly turned down Premo's beats? Thats means nothing as most of Dre's fan base are mainstream pop fans with limited hiphop knowledge.
As for giving this Jay Dee release 2 stars?? WTF???
and finally as for the comment its all music its all rap? No hiphop artists produce music thats relates to hiphop culture. A rap artist is not necessarily a hiphop artist. If that was the case Vanilla Ice would be related to hiphop culture you tool! |

I remember reading 6 years ago that dre refused premo's beats he sent in for rakim's album on aftermath...damn!!! wat happened preme???couldn't make the band?? lol |

Throw in some bangas from the molemen with a little bit of daily plannet and your good to go ha. one love. btw, madlibs "shades of blue" album is dope, love the jazzy feel, as well as madvillan. as far as chronic 2001? if anything, "the chronic" is better than that mess. If you look at all of "datn!ggabeoncrack's" comments all over the message boards, you will see a slue of just west coast gangsta music being the best. dude, expand your mind a little. Then again, what do you expect from someone who thinks mannie fresh is better than dj premier. AC & Briggs, big ups on the comments. peace |

At last I here from a B-boy sent from the heavens!!!I'm sorry I forgot to mention Dudley Perkins as his s**t is ill to the max. Oddisee is phat and as for All Natural those brothers from Chicago and Family Tree members such as Iomas Marad?well that speaks for it self!!!Much love to those guys!!!
Peeps need to check Madlib as his talent pisses on Dre. However Dre has done a small amount of decent work and I thought the best beat he produced was in N.W.A. track 'Approach to danger' from there sophomore LP. I even find most of his beats simplistic at best and I neva liked dat G-Funk s**t back in the day.
Anyway Jay Dee forever R.I.P.
and for those who sleep on Madlib he's arguably the best producer of the moment so check him out!!! |

I preordered this joint in March and I'm still waiting patient as hell for Nature Sounds to get their act together and pick a firm vinyl release date. I think I've seen it pushed back twice now already. But believe me, you're gonna want this on LP. This is like straight Hip Hop history on wax. |
