Comment: iam so glad there people who see this album is trash! after dilla died his time was over period. the people who uses his name to get famous are idiots. let him rip. only the shining and donuts were great because its really from dilla himself, the way he wanted it even when they were released after his death.

Comment: God damnit this shit sucks. Wow. Worst album of the year probably. Dilla would of had nothing to do with this bullshit coming out.

Comment: 3 stars for dilla, this album is so sporadic and random to be called just that. this is more like a mixtape...a poorly mixed one. imo I dont think jay wouldve ever worked with these emcees its not that the unheard ones are terrible (just a hair above it) and the fact that majority of the beats have been heard and used on other releases says alot. entering the realm of posthumous releases is a tricky one (look at biggie and tupac) but after all is said and done this is only worth it if u want to support dilla's foundation. maybe pay jay lp sitting at stones throw can redeem this feeble attempt. oh and the artwork should speak volumes for what is inside that case. nuff said

Comment: This joint is decent real hip hop real music maybe not a classic but a must have Detroit has the flavour, abit suprized there is no Slum Village on this joint or at least Elzhi who is one of the best MCs out there and indeed Royce Da 5 9.I like the fact there is a few MCs that are new to me tho. JAY DEE FOREVER

Comment: I love dilla, but this album doesnt really compare to his previous albums, beats are too simple, and the features are rappers i've never even heard of rappin over dilla beats? Not feelin it.

Comment: a great attempt at a classic by ma dukes. the love is there, but people are right, its not mixed very well. also a few of the beats have been used again and again. flyy is dope but it was on j$paid, unreleased inst, and this? if there are 1000's of unreleased dilla beats let them breathe! also, get dj dez or k riggins to mix this stuff and give it that extra bang like the shining. also these cartoon covers gotta go. could have been a lot better but understandable as a first attempt.

Comment: The first single for the Rebirth of Detroit album is "Dillatroit", and the beat was used already by Copywrite. The Copywrite track is called "Best Seller". The beat to me is wicked, but I like how Copywrite spit to it. His track sounds better than the Dillatroit track. Only being real. J.Dilla & Real Hip Hop Forever.

Comment: The only thing this album does well is let the world know what rappers from Detroit NOT to f_ck with because they sh!tted over them Dilla beats!
Besides Danny Brown, Phat Kat, and Quelle, everyone else sucked.

Comment: Dilla must be mad where he is, I dnt mind the beats coz maybe thats wat is left in the archive but why choosin wack emceez that Dilla neva even worked wif?where is Elzhi,Blackmilk,Madlib(his Jaylib partner),Royce,Common(his house partner)i personally am not happy wif this bt im supportin the Dilla Foundation anyway..
Name: keno (Posted: 6/12/2012 7:54:00 PM; Partial IP: .250.17.86)
Comment: what did you people think it was gonna be? some beats u might know with new features, throwaway beats never heard cause thats whats left in his archive, soulful chops and bangers never released that make the album worth it cause anyone here is here to support the dilla foundation or at least should be. did you expect more from a deceased legend and a loving mother trying to continue a legacy for her son who majorly blew after his death. dilla never had the best features on his solo efforts. he repped his city always. could it be better? every album could be better but you get dilla and thats what you want aint it? tell ya like this, 2,8,10,12,13,14,17,18 dope as hell!!!!!! 19,20,21 grow on you and are dope. thats more than you get with other albums. id buy it with just those tracks. dont care if beats were released or not. there all on one disc and everything sounds good. some tracks coulda been scrapped and track order could be better, but dilla didnt have a say in it.

Comment: @wtf then they shouldn't advertise this as "a new album of unreleased material from her son". It's reused beats with new verses from emcees. To me the statement is misleading.

Comment: I'm a huge Dilla fan but I was expecting more. I already heard most of the beats that were on the album because most of these are on his other beat tapes. There are a couple songs I like but the album as a whole was a bit of a let down. RIP Jay Dee

Comment: Dilla will forever be the best that ever did it. The tracks with Phat Kat and Danny Brown are pure fire! That said, the rest of the lineup looks quite disappointing indeed - a rebirth of Detroit, sans Black Milk, Elzhi, Royce, Finale, Invincible, Journalist 103, Magestik Legend... I hope those guys you never heard of wont all be useless.

I AGREE, no Elzhi?! No T3 (not that I really care) I would like to have seen Black Milk and even a One Be Lo feature. No Finale or Invincible either...

Comment: Not seeing anyone from Slum Village listed??? Hmmm... Is it just me or does it seem like there are a lot of artists missing from this release that should have made the final cut before others that did? I think it'll still be a choice LP but it could have been so much better with some of Detroit's finest emcees on it.
