Knowing that Dr. Who Dat AKA Jneiro Jarel who was featured on the Low End Theory LA like Daedelus or Afta-1 or Fly Lo maybe I would anticipate this album and know what to expect especially from a electronic experimental prespective. im assuming some Hip Hop heads arent aware of the side of Hip Hop that involves electronic music IDM the UK shit etc like Herbalizer or the Unsung Heros or maybe Kidkanevil etc. so im not surprised of what others say, its part of its own evolution innovation. |

And it comes to show How poor and desperate mainstream Rap (not Hip Hop) is. Now theres just one bad thing about digital distribution and no A & Rs, anyone can put out material even if it sounds horrible and even if the audience dont know what DOPE Is (like a drug). The A & R is suppose to be like a pharmacist who develops the potency of the artist to hit the sweet spots of the audience assuming there is an addiction. Its sad that nowadays that sweet spot changes so quickly because digital downloading of music scatters that sweet spot all over the place that it lacks that concentrated focus. so now that DOPE-ness is just a one hit wonder and this is bad for the culture trying to stay pure. but if its sampled music and the audience wants to delve into the past and then forms an addiction to the raw form of music the samples came from, then thats another way the sweet spot for DOPE-ness can be refocused now that music is easily accessible at a digital level assuming the raw form of sampled DOPE-ness in its pure form is available. Now who gets the gasface?... its still the major label that are money hungary and are also suffering from free digital download. These days artists with the musicality shouldnt worry about sellin music as the music will speak for its self, and most likely its slept on with the majority thinking mainstream music is the best thing they ever heard. As long as the underground stays pure and concentrated that the culture of fans will always stay up on that DOPE-ness. |

He could have chosen ANYBODY, but the DOOM I love is suited to psychadelic. He was transported here. True lyrically but we will never get a DOOM Dilla joint. Can't happen. It feels to me like at the same time DOOM spit these lyrics he simultaneously spit these beats like it was one sound but that (and I honestly appreciate all opinions here whcih is what makes this shit fun) is what I hear and I have yet to get enough of this combo of MC and producer. He is born there and this is teh sound there... They (we) hate him here and that is semi what its about. Villain got kicked out your country and said the pledge of a allegiance 6 times monthly. Winter Blues is a perfect example of how it really shows DOOM more emotional side of him that I haven't heard before while Jneiro complements with the electronic slash orchestrated violin backdrop. Don't worry, DOOM still has songs with the comical light-hearted super villain style you know and love. But with the uncharted territory that the villain reach really exceeded my expectation. 5/5 no doubt. |

I've been complaining about that. I still want to hear this; I don't even have the snippets. Either Doom is secretly dead or just fucking lazy.
