Congratulations, you have succeeded. Let’s all give him a round of applause and hope he finds a hobby or dies. You are a burden to hip hop heads everywhere. --------------------Man, you are a sad pathetic human being. It is fine to review an album, but you have long surpassed the point of being a valued music critic. You are now displaying the emotional addiction characteristic of a WOW player in his mom's basement. You cling to chronic masturbation over UGHH arguments like you are a 13 year old boy who just discovered pornography. ---------------------Go out into the world and socialize. Either step your game up or GTFO, cuz we are tired of you attempting to morph subjectivity into objectivity.----------------------Voice your opinion ONCE, rate the album, do your thang, then fuck off. Or better yet, try and find a friend who you can go out for coffee with and complain all you want. Don’t come on here to try and validate your own self worth by creating an obnoxious, pushy internet persona.

I have so much respect for KRS-1, Listening to him is so refreshing. Regarding the CD, The rhyme work is just to predictable. The same goes for Buck, but still his technique and rhyme structure is just to sick! But what da f, they still bring that pure an uncut, that I love ! Overall there are without a doubt some heavy rhymes on this, simple or not! This album got soul, a important message an i´m almost feelin´ every track! This is Hip Hop…2010 here we come!!! |

LARS “Mr. Hip Hop/always-something-negative-to-say”, don´t you have anything else to do, than dissin´ every record this site is selling – i´ve seen you write before, that you´ve been listening to hip hop since 1980, are you still a fan or just an ”old” angry man, who feels better by lettin´ all your negative shit out here?
Yeah, Hip Hop have seen some bad times over the years, but please, this shit don´t help…Yes, you´re entitled your opinion, but be a little constructive instead of this childish crap, please act your age! By the way, f**k all this e-thug shit, sick of it! Must be a product of the music industry, ever since the 50 Cents an all them, all that tuff talk on wax (and screen)! It´s just sad to see grown men act like this… I think this is a fresh and very relevant record, dope production, lyrics and great features!
But yes, I have to agree with you on this one, LARS- KRS was better back in the days! I really respect this man for his impact, he is one of my favorites of all time, an i´m still feelin´ his message (that´s what Hip Hop is all about IMO). His rhymes was just more complex back then, many of his rhymes seems a little simple today (but still got the substance), the rhymewords are just to predictable.

It costs nothing to make a hot beat except effort. Beatboxing is cool even till this day but you can't have an album of just beatboxing...even the Fat Boys knew that. But beats are very important to carry your lyrics...with that being said, KRS's lyrics on this album have waned....He simply has a hard time making hot records now.....time to retire..he looks like an old fool... |

I can remember when they didnt have $$ for the 48-track board and had to beatbox. This shit is 6 or 7 stars. Just listen to the lyrics..."I'll hit u like a bong thon blow u out like Chong"...CLASSIC!!. Who needs a fuckin' beat with those rhymes?? All haters - go and check out BDP's Criminal Minded. Lyricism and subject matter are there, but the beat production work is a little stale, and that will make it fall deaf on a lot of ears. Buckshot's "The Formula" rides a lot smoother. Overall, I would still recommend this to lovers of the underground... |

Not to say you're old, but... the classics are classics, and nothing's going to give you the same feeling as opening those up when you were in your teenage years, because you're past that stage of your life now! In fact, KRS caused me to give it 2 stars instead of 3. He is just so overbearing these days. Buckshot still has the flow intact and can lay down nice verses. I wish he was able to put out a good solo joint with hot updated but 90's type beats (see Rae's Cuban Link 2 for reference). I do think Buckshot still has a dope album in him. However, KRS needs to disappear and sit in an old folks home with a bowl full of Jello. |

KRS & Buckshot seemed a bit off tho, cuz they're just do different of MC's. KRS would come helluh hard on sum knowledgeable awesome shit (he's the teacher!) and then Buckshot would spit sum straight "Raw, Aww yea, Real Hip Hop, Smoke Weed, Mess with me yea, i'll buck you down" so the messages tend to clash, especially in KRS's case cuz he straight starts coming out on that ra-ra tip sometimes, not that he's never done that before, it just seems to contradict what he's been about recently,(Stop the Violence movement 09?). The first song on this album is the weakest song on here, but as soon as the album get past that song it livens up on that really raw shit. In the end, this album is ok in comparison to other recent things the duo has put out as solo artists (KRS's Hip Hop Lives & The Formula) Still, this is a must-have for real heads cuz its KRS & Buckshot. Overall its 4/5. So much better than alotta things that are out right now. Best Song: Runnin Away w/ Immortal Technique |

Many will disagree, but I for one hate the more refined & polished, crispy, pop-esque sounding tunes. Its like the "sounds" they used; the snares, melody samples, etc., were sampled from the same vault of every other commercial rappers production, except made to sound a tiny bit more boom bap-ish..its too heavy on that synthy shit. Hey the beats aren't actually bad at all, its just I'd rather hear Buck and KRS over some more, gritty, raw, head nod type shit, it matches their style better. Two boom bap pioneers without boom bap production = a could have been classic..lyrics saved it from failure tho. |

Compared to his early 90's stuff it's soft, but compared to his recent stuff and most of the stuff out now it holds up much better. I don't listen to Buckshot as much as KRS, but from what I've heard this is good stuff from him, although I feel that he brought KRS's excitement down somewhat, this can be seen in Runnin Away where Immortal Technique's presence clearly brought him back up. |

I remember back in 1988-89 when I was called a prick for loving NWA, Eazy E, CMW, DJ Quik, D.O.C., & Ice Cube when everyone else was still saying west coast and their jerri curl was wack and east coast was the only show in town...boy did those people eat their words over the years.....so sir...I am used to being ahead of the curve with music. I was listening to 2Live Crew in 1986 waaay before people caught on everywhere else with "Me So Horny" and "Pop That Coochie" (don't front, 90% have grinded on a chic at a club to either of these joints!!). I had the damn records when he was pressing them on Luke SkYYwalker label...."Throw That D"!!..I even have the Luke Skyywalker coat with the fake leather arms..LOL..It's probably worth hundreds on eGay. |

I can't sit thru a new KRS One album these days. Nothing he makes compares to music he made 15 years ago. My discussion is about who is making what...now, not yesterday. KRS has regressed. I love his albums all the way up to Sex & Violence. After that, I can no longer feel it. Buckshot is in a holding pattern in his career and has been since the late 90's. He seems to be stuck in the same gear and it is getting old. |

Did that make him a better "Rapper" than Big Daddy Kane? Im sorry, Lil wayne and the rest of these dudes just arent "TALENTED" to be in the same discussion then with a "Buckshot" or "KRS ONE", when there albums came out..EVERYBODY bought them..not just teen boopers. Hip hop is an art...If I draw a picture of smiley face and it sold 10 million copies, and you made some comic book, detailed incredible HULK sh@!t and it sold 1 million copies..would you still say my Smiley face pic is better cause of the quanity? That type of music "Lil wayne", and etc. is being sold to kids and etc. That doesnt make it better. That doesnt make Vanilla Ice better than Kane...50 Cent sold way more ablums than Jadakiss but is he better as an "ARTIST", than him? Thats why this is HIP HOP! Its about the Quality and the product not Quanity. |

KRS only got wacker with age. He was top 5 20 years ago...now....He's not even in the top 30 based on his latest songs/lyrics. Jada and Styles P would BODY KRS right now. |

Buckshot is still dope and go check the "Criminal Minded 08" 12inch...., so is KRS wack????? Or check "The DJ" from the DJ Revolution 2LP.
I'm very curious for this release..., remember it's Duck Down Records |

Name: LARS (Posted: 7/21/2009 2:29:00 PM; Partial IP: 4.10.46.64) Location: stockhom, sweden Comment: My comparison is the fact that when Kurtis Blow came out, the old farts (like yourself), laughed him off as no musical skill...but the kids LOVED HIM. Same thing for Lil Wayne...old hip hop heads resent him, but the kids LOVE HIM. The youth keeps hip hop alive in ALL OF ITS FORMS...don't get crazy as the game chagese ever few years. Side note: in 1986 Kurtis Blow was considered WACK and LL was that next dude....In 1993 LL was WACK and Buckshot was next dude...GET THE PICTURE?? |

You might as well compare 5o cent to the Rza. Are you fuckin kidding me? You are mistaking conscious and real hip hop for fuckin image oriented garbage. Pull your head out. Buckshot is so dope and his shit isn't new either you dumb ass, ever heard of the Boot Camp Click? Your whole rant just made a whole lot of people dumber and a whole lot of dead mcs role over in their graves. KRS and Beedie eyes on the same album... come on, this is gonna be good, I'm excited - these dudes are legends. |

Name: LARS (Posted: 7/21/2009 10:57:00 AM; Partial IP: 4.10.46.64) Location: stockhom, sweden Comment: I don't care what age you are. In music, it is just a number..however, it is how you progress is how I judge artists. If you take steps backawards or stay in the same place, then you are bound for failure. Nothing in this world stays the same...evolution is needed. Buckshot's album waith 9th was ok..not great. 9th's beats started to all mesh together by the time you listened to it. It sounded like one long azz song by the time I finished listening to the album. Many of you sound like the same people who dissed the so called hip hop legends long ago when they first came out...Up unitl about 1989, people said hip hop was gonna die in a year's time. Damm near 30yrs later, it is still here. Now the people that said it would die was because it was "junk music" etc etc and it was not real like R&B/Soul. "Hip hop would never have legends like Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, etc etc because it is not real music". Well my peeps, they were WRONG! Now in 2009, you people are about the same age that those nay-sayers back in the 80's. Because you don't agree with the changing shape of hip hop, you are quick to dismiss a guy like Lil Wayne. Lil Wayne in 2009 is no different than Kurtis Blow in 1981. He is a STAR that many love and few hate. I think many of you just like to live in the past and refuse to give props to those who take the music to the next level...what ever that level may be.... |

Please dont mention lil wayne in the same sentence as these legends, he sounds like a retard and cant rap for shit, DJ premier is well into his 40's but has he fallen off? go listen to blaq poets new album and that answers that. Enjoy your down south junk LARS, I cant wait for this |
Name: LARS (Posted: 7/20/2009 11:14:00 AM; Partial IP: 4.10.46.64) Location: stockhom, sweden Comment: I was a fan of KRS 1 (i bought "south bronx" 12inch the week that I heard it and his album "Criminal Minded" the day it came out). I also purchased Black Moon's first album the day it came out along with all of the maxi singles the dropped off that album for the remixes. HOWEVER, this is a new day my friends...they days of getting excited about a new release by any of these guys is long gone. Lil Wayne is making better music than both of these guys now. Does KRS & Buckshot have better music they did back during the 850's/early 90's..absolutely! Nothing Lil wayne has done now compares to that stuff...BUT, neither Krs or Buckshot have been able to rekindle that magic. Their time has gone. It is now time for them to move over and make way for the newer artists. You guys dis Lil Wayne, but many of your "legends" always mention him has very talented. So what the fluck do you know? I tell you, many of underground fans sound like Elvis fans to this day...they swear nothing else compares to their "hero". If you brought Elvis from his grave and had him in the studio now, he could not make a hit to save his life! Things change and if you cannot change, then it's time to hang it up. Who the hell wants to hear the same ole sound for 25 years??? Open your ears folks.... |

This would have been an interesting concept in 1994...but in 2009...it's about as interesting as wanting see Ali vs Frazier IV in MSG on PPV. KRS One has been striking out more than Reggie Jackson circa 1982. Buckshot has not been striking out but instead not standing out. VERY AVERAGE. LIL WAYNE will rap both these guys under the table right now! KRS One is so, so ,so TIRED! He took the teacher title too literally, and now he is falling on deaf ears. He looks like he should quit and just stick to being the uncle on the grill at the family BBQ. The man is embrassingly old looking to take the stage and jump around for 20 year olds. His rhymes have lost not a step, but 5 STEPS! Buckshot still has a chance. Get a reuinon album poppin with the origianl click and get some good production the fold and make this happen. You own Duck Down, so shelve this album because you don't want any KRS One s***t stains on your discograpy. Avoid that blow homie and fry bigger fish! |
