This classic joint makes me reminisce over the good old days when hiphop was all about talent. I understand that the art form must evolve with the times but I'm surrounded by so much garbage like Lil Wayne, Soldier Boy, Jay Z, D-Block and that crap from the dirty south etc. I feel that the beat producer of the moment is Madlib and I'm still balling over the sad passing of the late great Jay Dee (R.I.P) HipHop as we knew it back in the day 80's and 90's was all about skills and tight lyricism. I understand that the kids keep the culture and movement alive as Lars stated but I've sold multiple spare copies of 80's and 90's releases to kids who've been blown away by the music of that era.
Sorry to ramble on guys but the Large Pro's contributions from the Main Source days to his solo efforts are ESSENTIAL PIECES FOR ANY B-BOYS COLLECTION. Finally I'm so relieved to see that every head here gives this 14 year old masterpiece 5 stars. Much respect to you all! Peace! |

Name: Quest (UGHH Staff) (Posted: 7/7/2009 6:34:00 AM; Partial IP: 60.116.249) Location: Boston, MA Comment: Martin - you can't be serious when you write "He's a bit weird to put out old music as well - we don't want that at all." This album was never officially released - the truth is most people want that. Maybe you don't want it but based on the pre-orders, you are the minority. If people didn't want old music, then no one would be purchasing old school music or re-issues - which is obviously not the case.
To Carleee - this is not a bootleg. This is put out by Large Professor's peoples at Redline Distribution/ Paul Sea Productions. You can read about this in the item summary on this page. |
