It is far from perfect, but there is nothing truly "bad" about this album. The beat on "24" was stellar "tru hip hop". It is a dope beat for those who appreciate old school beats chopped up oh so finely...scoop this album up, it is one of the few that is actually enjoyable to listen to from beginning to end. It won't rock a party, but it is great ipod or music to bump in the ride or crib on a Sat. morning. |

My opinion may be a little biased because I love EVERYTHING Little Brother, so I'll put it like this... If you are looking for another Listening or another Minstrel Show album, you are NOT gonna find it with this release. Their sounds and styles have evolved since then (other than because of 9th's departure) so you just gotta hear it for yourself. I can say that LB is strictly on their grown man shit with this album and they do it damn well. Phonte straight BODIES the beat on "Tigallo For Dolo". Also, "Second Chances" and "Before The Night Is Over" are real smooth. I do kinda wish they had put some fresh new verses for the two GetBack remixes, but it is what it is, I ain't mad at 'em. That one by Zo! is the illest. He starting to become one of my favorite producers. Overall, it's not necessarily their greatest release, but it's still classic Carolina... |

It's only like 9 minutes long, and it's scratched and mixed together by DJ Flash, but it gives you a good feel of the sounds for the upcoming release. It includes the iTunes bonus track "Star", which is the song that 9th did not want released with the Leftback album and heated extra tension between him and Phonte. Why 9th doesn't want it released? Don't know. Not really relevant now. My opinion of the sampler may be biased, cuz I love Little Brother to death, but this shit is bangin! Carolina STAND UP!!! |

He said some bullshyt about me because I am Swedish. The man has alot of nerve being from Norway and half mexican. Nothing against mexicans, but how a someone from Norway can talk about a Swede is beyond me! We are so close together as countries but he has the balls to say Swedes know nothing about hip hop. Then the same goes for Norway! He also tried to rep Mexico but I am sure if you fropped his azz in Juarez, Mexico he will be screaming for his life looking for the Norwegian consulate. The Listening, Sleepers (Pooh solo), Chitlin' Circuit (my fav) and then Minstral Show...all dope. Don't get me wrong, I love 9th Wonder. He has pretty much established himself like the new generation J Dilla, but Little Brother as a group isn't purely dependent on him. It's not the same, but that gives them the chance for something new and groundbreaking. Prime example, The GetBack album was the truth. Collectively it was a whole new evolved sound with no slump or filler tracks. And now, for this album, I'm confident in Khrysis handling a bulk of the work. Just by looking at tracklist... Chaundon, Torae, Bilal, Zo!, Jozeemo, Yahzarah's sexy ass voice... C'mon son! This joint is gonna be ILL... By the way, this is off topic, but did y'all hear about Pooh, Chaundon, and Jozeemo gettin in a car wreck recently? Nobody was hurt too badly. Jozeemo got the worse of it, they had to fix his grill back up... |

I agree, The Listening and The Minstrel Show are two untouchable classics. But the GetBack album hit HARD all the way through even with one track from 9th. And Justus For All took a minor slump for the simple fact that they were all old mixtape tracks and they really didn't have any concept uniformity. BUT, I am 99.9% sure that this LeftBack album is gonna rock everyone's socks off! Khrysis is a solid producer, as well as Kon Artis and Zo!. I'm disappointed 9th didn't contribute, but it doesn't shake my confidence of Phonte and Big Pooh rockin' this joint... |
