These artists wouldn't have put the interludes in it if they were meant to be skipped over. You can hurt hiphop and go on itunes and buy the individual singles and take this record at face value or you can buy the record, listen to it all the way through, while enjoying the cover/credits and kick a freestyle over the instrumentals. Preserve the kulture. |

Madlib comes through with amazing, experimental raw beats while doom ryhmes in his beautifully abstract songs. Some may not like the interludes, but I think they are necessary and provide excellent segues between the short but sweet songs. |

Name: mike87 (Posted: 5/12/2004 10:21:00 AM) Summary: I Like The Whole Album!!! Comment: The whole CD is good EVEN with all the skits and interludes it is still good and still the s**t. Mad and Doom ripped it up and I hope they never change their style of hip hop. |
Name: dez07 (Posted: 5/11/2004 12:08:00 AM) Summary: Damn Skits And Interludes!!! Comment: Doom, Lib you 2 had a classic right here, and messed it up with all the skits and interludes. But all and all Madlib ripped the beats, and Doom blessed the mic, nice team. |
Name: Skem (Posted: 4/26/2004 6:08:00 AM) Summary: God Damn Comment: I bought Lootpack's "Soundpieces:Da Antidote", so I knew Madlib can do some good ish, but this good. This is a f*kin masterpiece. |
Name: ketchupsamurai (Posted: 4/16/2004 7:30:00 PM) Summary: Masterpiece Comment: Anyone who loves Hip=hop would be a complete fool not to own this masterpiece. MF Doom and Madlib working together? They must have got together and said "Enough is enough. No more bullsh*t albums by non-rappers like Chingy, J-Kwon, Nelly, and some". Thank goodness for Stones Throw records! |
Name: attackthewack (Posted: 4/12/2004 4:48:00 AM) Summary: Dripping Off The Meat Grinder Comment: That's how raw this album is. The best of the last 5 years easily, don't listen to what anyone else says. Just buy the album. |
Name: Mookers (Posted: 4/8/2004 1:42:00 PM) Summary: Classic If Not For Too Many Skits/interludes Comment: The songs on this album that contain Doom rhyming over Madlib beats are excellent. However, the interludes and tracks without Doom are somewhat boring - which prevents this album from being a classic. Shame. |
Name: mecbar (Posted: 4/1/2004 8:41:00 PM) Summary: A Must Have! Comment: Doom & Madlib give us a classic. |
Name: Mookers (Posted: 4/1/2004 2:10:00 PM) Summary: Very Good But Too Many Interludes Comment: If the interludes/instrumentals were cut out of this album, and Doom was on every track, it would be a classic. Madlib's production is uniquely brilliant, and Doom...well if you read his lyrics in the provided book they appear completely insane, but when you hear him deliver them they make complete sense - which is testament to his genius as an MC. |
