Item Summary
Murs, one of rap's biggest independent success stories and a pioneering L.A. underground hip-hop star for a decade, finally makes his major label debut with Murs For President. A vote for Murs is a vote for eclectic, genre-bending, politically charged, musically adventurous, and genuinely entertaining rap (Snoop Dogg and will.i.am are featured on the album). "I'm making a decision to leave Planet Underground Hip- Hop," says Murs. "Whoever wants to come with me, come with me." A vote for Murs is a vote for the future.

Added for the Special Edition is an outrageous 26-minute spy flick, The Murs Administration, starring Murs.

Comment: In my opinion...which is worthless, I didnt dig this cd. Most of Murs's other work I can't help but listen to it over and over. But this one seemed to fall short. One major thing is that he didnt have ANY living legends on his major label debut! Thats bull. Hate me if you want...not that good.

Comment: This is Hip-Hop for grown ups, the last dude probably still shares a bedroom with his moms listening to Ill Bill and Cormega on his IPod. He couldn't possibly comprehend the depth of a track like "the Science" or the cool out factor in "Me and this Jawn" or "So Comfortable". Sure there are a few missteps (hated "Lookin Fly") but overall there is a lot of substance and standout tracks on this album. I actually expected a much more "pop" sounding album due to the fact he signed to Atlantic. However, Murs did in fact "keep it real", I'm sure a couple of those tracks were merely to appease the label heads. Cant wait for the next one...

Comment: I went in to listen to this album with low expectations and I honestly think this album is pretty good. I knew this was going to sound mainstream and I'm glad it has that West Coast feel to it. I also respect what Murs is trying to do with this album and that makes me down to support him.

Comment: 2nd to the White Jackson comment. Murs is a real emcee, which is hard to hear now and days. His lyrics are very good on the album, keepin' it real w/ himself as he's always done. Production could have been a tad better, but doesn't take away from the interest too much. Nothing tops Murs 3:16 and Murray's Revenge though. That Sooo Comfortable track bumps nice in tha ride! Support Real Hip Hop and cop this album! -1-

Comment: If you like good lyrics and can stand a few okay beats, cop the album. 9th Wonder and MURS at their best on Love and Appreciate II in my opinion. Suprised "Better Than the Best" isn't on this but its still all good. Don't not buy it just because he's on a major record label, he's only doing that do make a point and make commercial hip hop better, which he will. In other words, HE DOESN'T NEED IT FOR MONEY. Think about it, he has his own hip hop festival every year. Good ablum though, lives up to hype

Comment: I love murs.. coo album, 'can it be' is a sick track but the album as a whole is average. the will.i.am. track would have been tight if he didnt have that weak drum roll everyone uses in the beat. overall its still the best major label release in years

Comment: Murs has worked hard for YEARS. He has the chance to make money, while still spitting the same real hip hop. Just cuz its a label that is well known, doesnt mean hes going to make all club jams. keep in mind dreadlocks - club. dirty girl (felt) - club. And ill quote him from z-trips albumn shifting gears "this is hip hop it's fucking fun."

Comment: Murs can do what he wants to, bottom line. He could do a song with Michael Bolton and Id be interested in it. Dude has paid dues obviously. Shut your fat mouth and listen... I also think he enjoys the money haha.
