Summary

Originally released on two vinyl EPs, the "O-Zone Originals" CD is finally here by popular demand! After debuting on Organized Konfusion's "Fudge Pudge" single, an unsigned emcee named O.C. started traveling with them when they did promotional shows. It was on The Source Magazine College tour in 1993 that O.C. first met a producer named Buckwild, who was deejaying for Lord Finesse at the time. A creative union was formed and when O.C. was signed to MC Serch's Serchlite production company, the two started working on demos together.

No Sleep Recordings is proud to not only present those demos, but also rare tracks that O.C. recorded with DJ Ogee, Da Beatminerz, Eclipse and others. Spanning the years of 1993 to 1996, the track-listing of this CD explores the early stages of preparation for O.C.'s classic debut album; "Word.Life" all the way through to his essential second release "Jewelz". Included are previously unheard / unreleased songs, 12" only remixes, rare radio promos, and more! This is straight up dopeness from one of the greatest lyricists ever, working with some of the best producers of the mid-90s. D.I.T.C. from this era never disappoints and it is a special treat for Hip-Hop heads everywhere to finally unearth these tracks!

Comment: 1994 Kevvy kev The Drum KZSU (the longest playing Hip Hop college radio show on the planet which ended in 2011 RIP) promo takes it back... and The Wake Up Show, oh how good it use to be... and OC keeps it consistent with the rhymes and delivery on Buckwild Beats and Da Beatminerz on that production tip. nothing will sound the same as it use to as technology progress and surpasses how it use to sound with dirty drum machines.

Comment: This demonstrates why he deserved a spot among the greatest lyricists of all time. Every track is just some good ol' fashioned Hip Hop from the Golden Era. A great addition to my collection.
