Comment: It's either you hate or love this album and I can definitely see how someone could hate P, he's very different from what's out there. There are a few fillers on this one and on the first few listens it feels quite basic but the more I dig into it the more I realise how good HNIC3 is, even though he's mostly talking about chicks, as a matter of fact especially cos he's talking about chicks. It's a pure banger, a man expressing himself in various styles, moods and contexts.
The best tracks for me right now are: 1,2,3,5,6,9,11,12,18,19,20
Like P says in his interviews, you can't stay the same all the time. Most listeners don't understand the nature of creativity. They want the artist to be doing murder raps all the time, but as Jay-Z say in his book Decoded, you won't be a killing machine 24/7. I got Return of the Mac (Nickel and Nail) if I wanna here P do that, or HNIC2 (Dirty New Yorker) if I wanna hear another style or Product of the 80s (Test tube Babies) for something else. As with Ghostface on Wizard of Poetry and Bulletproof Wallets, HNIC3 brings a different vibe to a legendary rapper. Who could come back after so many ill winds; disease, humiliations, betrayal and imprisonment. This album is pure inspiration for me. Prodigy is definitely one of the best to ever do it, and now stronger than ever. |

Comment: I'm a big Prodigy fan but it seems like lyrical content was watered down or maybe it was rushed to meet release deadline with Nas's album. I like the beginning and end of the You BSing is nice song in the middle but otherwise the beats commerical sounding and the lyrics are very soft and empty. What to the vibe he was on the HNIC 2 and Product of the 80's? Havoc needs to start doing more production and they need to help each other more. Where is Un Pachino and Big Twins? The chemistry is just bad on this one. I like the deluxe move with dvd but he needs to get back to basics. |
