Comment: You entitled to your opinion Gonex3, about Rae's album...aint gon' agree with you, but ok. You talkin' about late 90's though, the Clan had shit rollin' since 93'. The dope shit came from '93 to I would say at least 97'. The Clan aint a late 90's group and Chop Chop Ninja is a story, something Rae (next to Slick Rick and Andre 3000) is exceptionally good at telling. Deck and Estelle got down on that one too! As a matter of fact I can close my eyes, listen to the track, and see Rae gettin' his ass whooped by the ninja until he let of those shots lol. I think Chop Chop Ninja is one of those tracks you gotta play over and over to appreciate it. Still a dope track to me though! From The Hills is my shit though, dope cut indeed. |

You obviously know your Clan catalog! Apollo Kid's was decent but I can't front on Rae's shit cause I been bumpin' the hell out of Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang since I bought that bitch!!! Shit was so dope I mixed a 2 disc cd to pay homage to the Wu with shit from ENTER THE 36 CHAMBERS, TICAL, LIQUID SWORDS, RETURN TO THE 36 CHAMBERS, OB4CL, IRONMAN, THE PILLAGE, WU-TANG FOREVER, and a whole bunch of shit from the SWARM albums, La the Darkman, Sunz of Man, Killa Army, Shyhiem, Killah Priest, and other Wu affiliates. Why would I stop living my life and listening to hip-hop music just because a crisis is happening? Sorry homo but I wasn't built that way. I'll agree and say when the Clan had 93' to 96' those were dope and fire ass times for the Clan and they still bringin' heat to this day. But you obviously don't know what the fuck you talkin' about when you mentioned the Wu-affiliated producers...who the fuck you think Cilva Ringz, Bronze Nazareth, and Mathematics with? This is a dope ass album by the way and I can hear the essence of the Clan behind this album from the rhymes, beats, and kung-fu flicks. Rae's shit don't even sound the same in every song so what the fuck was that about? You gon' talk about and diss a album talk about why my man Lupe's shit had wasn't hot and had poor reviews cause I can't see where that's even a factor with Raekwon's shit. This sounds strange to say with the shaolin effects and all. But really, I was very impressed with Rae's lyrics, ability to switch up his flow alittle once in a while, and most of all, the guest appearances. I thought he put in just the right people to make this album go from good to great. The beats at times hit me as a little hollow sounding or just not there so I went 4 star. Reakwon's bars are better than ever, guest appearances where solid, but the beats could have used alot more attention. If you know the Chef you know this will be cooked right. And to the whackness spreader trying to bring down teenage fans of Hip Hop remember you were in their position at some point too, lets spread some positivity and come together. Real Hip Hop heads know the art is universal. |

Name: terror (Posted: 3/3/2011 10:47:00 AM; Partial IP: 23.152.116) Location: nj/tx/pr/ Comment: just heard the album, sounds good. I like how nas came out, and believe it or not but lloyd banks and rick ross ripped it. only thing lacking is quality beats, and creativity. but besides that it sounds hard and rhymes are on point. |

It is OVER at that point. Hate those cats. Matter of opinion. They are clowns of production currently and I am hoping he will forego that decision. Rae Ghost and Rick Ross dope... a phukkin' LIE!!! Kill it dead with seventeen silver bullets. Spoken and let it be so. |
Name: TheBALL (Posted: 2/13/2011 4:25:00 PM; Partial IP: 8.7.239.20) Location: Not Quite NY Comment: Here's the deal... We all know that Chef is a poet. He is the official Wu story teller... HOWEVER, I am not all over this guest list. Do NOT say "he makin' munny tho" I don't care about that. He BEEN had money. Now he is solidifying his status as a Legend. One does NOT do that with your Rick Ross's and your Lloyd Banks's and your Jim Jones's. I will automatically skip these tracks... I promise. I will give them NO run at all and may see if I can have them permanently removed from my CD once purchased. Love the Chef, hate the crap of it. I do however anticipate. I pray let it not be the beginning of the end. |

Name: Ben (Posted: 2/4/2011 12:20:00 AM; Partial IP: 4.17.147.2) Location: Seattle, WA Comment: so the singles i've heard from this album are Shaolin Vs. Wu-Tang and Butter Knives which are both dope. then theres Rock n Roll, which I dont really know... I liked Rae's and Ghost's verses, and I liked the beat, but Kobe and Jim Jones werent doing it for me. but looking at the producer list on wikipedia, I think thats going to be the only wack track on the album. Scram Jones, Erick Sermon, The Alchemist, Cilvaringz, Mathematics and Havoc always come through. and the guest lists dont look bad at all. I like both Rick Ross and Lloyd Banks, so i'm not all that disappointed to see them on the album like some of the comments i've been reading. then you got Nas, Black Thought, Busta Rhymes, Mobb Deep and of course Method Man, Ghostface Killah & Inspectah Deck. also need to buy this on itunes so I can get the track with GZA & Killah Priest. all in all, doesnt look like a classic, but it looks decent enough so that Raekwon fans should be satisfied. Wu-Tang hasn't really had a wack album in a while. Apollo Kids was extra dope, so i'm staying optimistic on this one. if not... Rae did say he was working on Cuban Linx 3 which will probably include RZA production, and also some from Just Blaze and Kanye West. so thats something to look forward to as well. |
