Comment: Saw these guys when I went to whister for the 2010 olympics, one of the best shows of the many I saw. I picked this up, havent checked them since balance. Im old school. At first I didn't like a lot of it, but after some plays I do enjoy it now, not a huge fan of pornstar, but party people seem to like that track. I thought Tre Nice and Young Kazh were pretty good, never heard of them. I did love balance, would give that a 5.

Comment: Missing a few great Swollen songs such as Front Street, Go To Sleep, Brothers, Left Field to name a few. Includes songs from the new album, which should definitely not be on this cd. I agree with Undergroundkid. Bring Moka back and drop Tre nyce. He Sucks!!!

Comment: Old Swollen is killer.....this new stuff is watered down commercial garbage! Who is promoting this type of crap? "Alright guys, lets put some hot girls, flashing lights, and catchy dumbed down choruses in the video......You'll go Platinum." !SMFH!

Comment: I'm not trying to hate on Swollen Members or anything, but I just can't see this album pushing any sales. I would be absolutely shocked if this album breaks even! But hey, you gotta do what you gotta do. I'm awaiting the day that Battle Axe Records resurrects from the dead so Swollen Members can finally leave SubNoize Records for good. Don't get wrong SubNoize has their own distinct music and push sales, but Swollen Members do too. Each element needs it's on space. But I'm shocked that Front Street, Dark Riders, Go For Mine with Kut Father & Buc Fifty and a few others didn't make the tracklist. ....I'll wait and see what the consumers say :-)

Comment: Well I reside in Ohio/USA. I highly doubt that Swollen Members will swing by my way but if they do I would be the first person to show up at the club, no doubt!!! I first heard of Saukrates when he did the remix of Fuel Injected with Swollen Members. By checking out Saukrates I found other Canadian artists like Choclair, Jully Black, Ro-Dolla, and a few others. But like 3 or 4 years ago I was heavy into underground with battle axe records with artists like son doobie, planet asia, buc fifty, nucleus, brassmunk, non phixion, moka only (the founder of swollen members, plus he was an orginal member), del the funky homosapien, aceyalone, abstract rude, dj drez, dj revolution, psycho realm, bukue one, gothic concept, dilated peoples, mr. brady, tony da skitzo, jean grae, joey chavez, living legends, murs, chingo bling, the crest, etc. I'm sure there's more but my brain is fried just from writing all of that :-) I hope that Moka Only rejoins Swollen Members since he was the one to start the group when they were drunk at Denny's back in 96. That's like Destiny's Child without a Kelly Rowland in a way...

Comment: word life undergroundkid! i'm glad you like SM. I always find time to bump their old stuff. if these guys come to your town see them live whenever you got a chance. they got the love fo the music still but their new shit hasn't lived up to their foundation. I think mainstream money is clouding their vision of good music but they will snap out of it. hopefully! I can wait! lots of older groups are making a come back these days. I like how you knew about saukrates. if you aint yet peep da grassroots, passage through time. its old but has some solid canadian talent. I aint canadian but I remember this album and it was pretty tight back in the day.

Comment: Playerhater, you're absolutely right man. In a way I was just venting my frustration with these guys. I completely understand that they need to make money and sometimes it means going down a different route. But what I'm trying to point out is that sometimes they make poor choices on which select songs to promote. Honestly I thought Warrior was the shittiest Swollen Members song ever! I thought Flyest was underrated on the album. So if I were them I would've made a video for Flyest instead....but thats just me. Ah man if only they made a music video for Dark Riders these guys would be legends in Hollywood by now!! ha ha. In honesty it's not Swollen Members' fault. It's the fact that there are so many Pop shitty brain fans out there that only buy one type of shit. These got damn mainstream cock sucking fans out there are whats ruining the music business!!! No doubt Swollen Members would put out there hardcore shit, but since most of their fans aren't highly into it, I guess they have to serve them errrm G-rated music. lol Well ok I'll say PG-13. ha. And yeah I have all of their albums thus far. And the instrumentals too....

Comment: hey undergroundkid, I seen these guys a couple years ago in LA and they were tight live! I aint from canada so I didn't get to see them for years. I bought there first single on wax in the 90's and been a big fan since. they just do what they feel. you ain't making that shit so understand they might not have the funds for videos and shit. they just pick the shit that makes ends sometimes. you gotta feed them mouths. Nelly Furtado is big out there and helps them pay bills. their last 2 albums werent for me but they have got a new route in their careers. it sucks but they will figure it out as more and more fans stop going to shows. I like your dedication to the music but don't stress, just bump they old shit and be happy. you should be glad most of these new kids out there have no idea that hese cats were dope at one time.

Comment: No music videos, no backstage footage, no live interviews, no footage of the tour on bus, no re-releases of unreleased tracks, no instrumentals erm...BLACK MAGIC...,no studio footage, BULL SHIT! These guys are pushing the absolute level of tolerance. I've been a Swollen Members fan up until now. When Black Magic came out I knew that they were doomed. And a album like this certifies that Swollen Members will never be the same. To all those who missed out on Balance, Bad Dreams, Monsters in the Closet, and yes even Heavy, tough luck. Back then you could feel a musical trance from Swollen Members by their "creative" rhymes and their "INSPIRED" beats. Unfortunately if you heard Black Magic or Armed to the Teeth before hearing their previous albums, you missed out on something special. And on top of that, their unreleased material like Switchblade, North Star, Flawless, Warriors, Molten, etc. were awesome too...back in their time. And by the way, since Swollen Members are on a new record label, why haven't they released any clean or edited versions yet? No radio in hell is going to play that explicit shit. Personally I have no problem with it, but you limit yourself to certain audiences with just explicit material. [Talking to Swollen Members] You know if you guys REALLY wanted to reach out to broader audiences, then promote some edited versions of your songs so everyone can listen!!! Making clean version is WAAAAAY better than changing up your style and selling out. And speaking of music videos, lets start from the beginning. Balance: The only video released from this album was Lady Venom (their first track as a group). Fair enough. But when Swollen Members teamed up with Jazz Fudge why didn't they make other videos of their songs!!! For instance, Groundbreaking. This track is one of the best songs on the album and their was no fucken video for it, why! Front Street with the alchemist, possibly the best beat on the album, why was their no fucken video for this as well. Do you know how much appeal they would've received had they release a national music video of that song!!! Other great songs on Balance that Swollen Members should've made a video for: S&M on the Rocks, Bottle Rocket with Evidence, Everlast, & Divine Styler, Left Field with Del The Funky Homosapien & Unicron, and Consumption with Aceyalone. Next album, Bad Dreams: Killing Spree, RPM (with a retouch on the bass and drums this song would have a pitential of being a hit), & Dark Riders. I don't know what the hell they were thinking of not making a video of Dark Riders. That song TRULY depicts the classic Swollen Members style! Now on this album Sollen Members made videos for the songs Take it Back, Deep End, & Fuel Injected. It's ok but Deep End should've been more centered and focused on the dark illusion style of Swollen Members Next album, Monsters in the Closet: now it's nice that they made a video with Nelly Furtdao Steppin Thru with Kemo, and Bring It Home with Moka Only (he officially became a Swollen Member when this album dropped), but what the hell about Fuel Injected Remix!!!? Their number one hit song and they didn't fucken bother to make a video for the remix of the song! And by the way Fuel Injected Remix feat. Saukrates from Toronto, Canada. -sigh-....I thought Long Way Down and Act On It deserved a music video too....oh well. Now, Heavy: the only video released from this album was Watch This. They truly fucked up on this album. Don't get me wrong, I liked Heavy, regardless of what all the other swollen members nerds say, I thought this album was hefty. But they chose the wrong song to do a video for. They should've done a video on Block Party Remix with the Draft Dodgers, Burn It Down, Therapy, Adrenaline, & Ambush. Had they done that they would've broken through the walls of mainstream, no doubt! Black Magic: The only videos released for this album were Pressure and Put Me On. I personally felt that they should've made a video for Torture, Weight with Ghostface Killa & The Alchemist, Sinister with Sick Jacken NO DOUBT, and Brothers with Double Dragon. Last and LEAST, Armed to the Teeth. This album is the shittiest swollen members' album to date. An album like this encourages piracy to linger on. It's so shitty that it will smudge your car stereo into a broken sewage pipe. This album is totally whack dude! But anyways, why in the HELL did they not make a video for Meltdown, Flyest, or Funeral March?!?!? HA, I'm done.....Expect this Greatest Shits: Ten Years of Turmoil and Selling Out to have a 90% piracy rate. Anyone who buys this album is clearly insane. Peace. There's nothing swollen about this album. It's just your typical "let's collect together a big pile of frog shit to sell to the public because we know that they'll accept it because they're loyal fans to us". Well not me. ;-)

Comment: I'm sorry but this is horse shit. What the hell were these guys thinking!? They didn't add "Front Street, Groundbreaking, End of Story, North Star, Molten, Left Field, Fuel Injected Remix, Act On It, New Details, Steppin Thru, Dark Riders, Pokerface, Therapy, Adrenaline, Ambush, Torture, Weight, Prisoner of Doom, Sinister, or Brothers!!?!??!! Those are the real fucken Swollen Members songs. ALl of that other shit is bull shit (except deep end, bring it home, fuel injected, lady venom, and bottom line). These guys have fucken lost their minds. Battle Axe is fucked for good. Armed To Teeth=the utter obliteration of battle axe records. To all of the "real" Swollen Members fans....I guess it's time to pack up and find another music group to cling too. Please, do yourself a favor, don't buy this bull shit! It fucken sucks! Swollen Members' creativeness has lackluster-ed the past few years. Wow what a fucken shame.....to see such talent fade to oblivion.....damn.
