    Summary

From the release of their debut album "Balance" in 1999, Swollen Members captivated the underground hip hop world with live shows that took the raw explosive energy of rock music and powered it with the group's jaw-dropping lyrical abilities. The group's universal appeal caugt the attention of both underground and mainstream audiences and while earning accolades, as well as Juno Awards in their native Canada. The group has gone on to sell over 250,000 units in the United States. Over the years the group has collaborated with Everlast, Psycho Realm, Evidence, The Alchemist, Planet Asia, Chali 2Na, Nelly Furtado, Talib Kweli, and Tech N9Ne.

Swollen Members burst back onto the scene after a 3 year hiatus with "Armed To The Teeth" in late 2009. The album landed at #146 on the Top 200, #23 Independent chart, #5 Heatseeker and #18 Rap.

Monsters In The Closet 2 is a collection of rarities, b-sides and unreleased tracks just for the fans. The first volume of Monsters In The Closet has scanned 41,000. With the release of "Dagger Mouth" in April and the solo album by lead emcee Madchild in August, Swollen Members' profile will never be higher.

Comment: I'm not at all disappointed. They can do better and they will. They put out more albums than anyone. Perfect Storm, Dream Chaser, Heartland and Sound Burial are the Best. Great team, good rhymes, good production. What they did was master perfection.

Comment: Pretty disappointing release from swollen members...when I first started listening to the album, "trust" and "dream chaser" really caught my attention and I was lovin it, I couldnt' wait to hear the rest..then the next track, they used a sample that's been used a millllion times, and then the album just went downhill from there as far as production and content..kinda sad it didn't keep up with the way it started :/

Comment: Allot of hits and a few misses, but it is good to see that the SM are back to their "old" sound. Slightly updated though to todays version of underground rap. They are again in the right direction. Now lets hope that they will make another masterpiece like Balance! And where is the Alchemist?

Comment: These guys fell off when they dropped the album "Heavy" in 03, Black Magic album wasnt bad, but these foolz went pop and fell wayside. Im 33 now and maybe im just grown up, I used to dig this kinda muzik of what they were spittin, but im done with these cats..They can never touch Balance..

Comment: CAN NOT WAIT FOR THIS!! MITC was a beast of an album. Mad is what would have ben if he stayed underground, Prev 1 may be the most intellegent mc to rhyme, and I would wager that even Mozart would be a fan of Rob the Viking prod. Fuck the haters, Swollen Members Army. As said before SM is one of the few groups I enjoyed in the 10 years ago and still eagerly anticipate new releases. They kept it fluid while other groups like fell off the precipise.

Comment: In 2002 (with Moka Only) they gave the best Performance I've ever seen. Prevail Was standing on hands; Girls were trying to force their way backstage. The Energy was Amazing! They come through on every album: even if it sounds upbeat, like "Monsters in the Closet" or "Armed to the Teeth." Plus Prevail has profound lyrics. It's Fun Rap! So lighten up, or you won't like this one either.

Comment: I will give them a chance because I loved them back in the day.I've been to many shows of their and they would always bring that heat but their pop efforts turned me off.As for cfl,it is weak compared to nfl but at least they're playing some type of football untill those greedy fucks get their ish sorted

Comment: "Dagger Mouth" is the album I listened to the most out of any since it dropped back in April... definitely looking forward to this new album. Swollen definitely came back strong after the wrong turn they took with "Armed To The Teeth."
