Invincible murders it. Real Detroit is so live it's unreal. Flawless album. People comparing this record to Apollo's stuff 3 years later is crazy. Love it for what it is - this was Apollo's detroit foundation. |

Apollo Brown makes some of the best beats in the game now or ever - yeah I said it. watch, he gets the respect of not just new school cats, but old school heads too (DJ Premier has him on his top 20 list). And the emcees on this kill it: Invincible, Hassaan Mackey, MarvWon... Great album. My best of 2010. |

And the emcee on this ain't coming close to touching G Rap flow. Not even in the same ballpark, hell not even in the same fucking league. Before you kids try to tell people what's real and not real, LEARN YOUR HISTORY! Pick up a G Rap, EPMD, BDK, BDP LP and you'll learn real quick these emcees today have NO skills! |

The tracks you named are solid but really just the hooks (all big name stars like G Rap & Guilty). Those aren't even the best tracks - for me How We Live is soooo dope, plus Real Detroit, The Melody, Homage - but the top honors goes to Desperation which is unreal. Plus part of the appeal is that the album doesn't wear out after a couple listens, instead it gets better and better and stays in rotation. It also is so damn cohesive and works as an entire project not just as "tracks". Not to mention, this is an almost purely Detroit built album outside of about 2 people. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts in a month, or a year. 5 STARS!!! |
