I thought the tip off was there worst album by far though. | Name: succio (Posted: 6/10/2008 6:17:00 PM; Partial IP: .146.13.52) Location: cali Comment: strong album. very few if any skippable tracks | Name: Do You Want More??!?!?! (Posted: 6/10/2008 2:27:00 AM; Partial IP: .197.3.198) Location: the bay Comment: Thank you!!! the brotha from cali is tellin the truth! This is there worst performance by far. I remember the roots of old.. when musicianship actually mattered.. now, every track does sound the same.. throw a shitty sample on the bitch.. fuck the live drums (sorry quest) just use a sythisizer and top it off with some distorted lyrics.. the roots have always been the underground kings for their flawless production.. they seem to have really lost sight of what made them so great.. In the words of Black Thought himself " you are all about to witness some organic hip-hop jazz, 100% groove, and you don't stop.." what happened yo?!?!?! | Name: DR Jam (Posted: 6/5/2008 3:56:00 AM; Partial IP: 40.234.228) Location: Houston, TX Comment: I truly think that the Roots may just have outdone themselves, yet again.
When I listen to this LP, it feels better than Game Theory, and The Tipping Point. Only time will decide in the long run, but for now one thing is 4'sho, this is the best album of the year up until now, IMO. | Name: Alex (Posted: 6/2/2008 12:17:00 AM; Partial IP: 212.225.29) Location: Portland, Or Comment: This album is phenomenal, sick as hell, mang. For the most part it keeps things pretty fresh from track to track. The Roots just keep on comin with it. I would give it a five but there are a couple tracks where I find myself gettin impatient for the next sound. | Name: mdc11 (Posted: 5/7/2008 2:34:00 PM; Partial IP: .129.118.2) Location: dallas, TX Comment: automatic grammy no doubt any1 who doesn't think otherwise doesn't know what real hip hop is. | Name: Johnny (Posted: 5/6/2008 7:48:00 PM; Partial IP: 01.103.249) Location: Adelaide, Australia Comment: 1 word, consistent! Crazy album with a dope change up on that Birthday Girl track at the end. A must cop... | Name: gettovic (Posted: 5/6/2008 1:09:00 AM; Partial IP: 222.13.134) Location: nairobi, kenya Comment: is roots to cradle land. | Name: name (Posted: 5/4/2008 10:28:00 PM; Partial IP: .230.205.1) Location: cali Comment: If you know somethin different enlighten me!!!!
This album is the worst album I heard from the roots. Every other song has the same sound going on. It sounds like they through the shit together to get of DEF JAM. No offense to people who like it, but this dont sound like they put 100% effort. They cut corners on hella sht. Album all around sounds bland. I got all other LP's and EP's so I know this aint where the style is headin'... It just seems like they just didn't give a fuck. | Name: J KOOLY (Posted: 5/4/2008 1:04:00 PM; Partial IP: 211.109.53) Location: phoenix, az. Comment: Superb lyrics as usual, from the ROOTS, but I'm a little concerned about the beats. 3 stars only because 'Rising Down' w/MOS DEF and STYLES is by far the dopest-beats, rhymes, hook and all-its the only cut I'm feelin'. Stick with that type of rhythym and the ROOTS will be the only crew to take out streets this year!!!! | Name: ALLWISE (Posted: 5/4/2008 5:24:00 AM; Partial IP: .61.67.114) Location: BOSTON(DA BEAN) Comment: BT IS DEFINITELY A SUPERB LYRICIST,AND MAD RESPECT 2 DA ROOTS FOR HOLDIN' DOWN AS A LIVE HIP HOP ACT FOR SO LONG. HOWEVER,SOME OF DA "PRODUCTION" JUST DON'T DO IT FOR ME, THEY NEED SOME HORNS AND/OR MORE KEYS. IF U AIN'T C DA MOVIE:"BROOKLYN BABYLON", U AIN'T A ROOTS FAN. UNO! | Name: Caulin Reed (Posted: 5/2/2008 4:25:00 PM; Partial IP: 200.116.10) Location: Albuquerque Comment: This is what it's all about, it doesn't get any better then this! If it does let me know, I'm open for options! | Name: 500 the king (Posted: 5/2/2008 12:40:00 AM; Partial IP: 89.142.242) Location: Los Angeles C.A.. all day Comment: the roots keep doing it. motha fuckers take notes.hope they never retire. peace. | Name: Rapz79 (Posted: 4/30/2008 3:21:00 PM; Partial IP: .91.37.148) Location: Poland Comment: Very good album!!! | Name: Relish (Posted: 4/30/2008 2:48:00 AM; Partial IP: .176.140.5) Location: 305 via 703 Comment: Album is so banging, like usual, the roots keep changing it up, being anything but usual, and inventing music which invokes a great energy to feel. . black thought in the 5th dimension. peep for sure, defintely buy this its worth twice what you'll pay for it.
