Summary

Part 1 of 2: Signed to DJ Premier's "Year Round Records," Queensbridge rapper Blaq Poet discusses working with Premier on their joint album "Tha Blaqprint." Notorious for spending more time in the streets than in the studio, Poet talks about growing up immersed in the violent Queensbridge housing projects. He discusses his many mentors and friends who have fallen victim to the streets, including his cousin, Screwball member KL, whom passed last year, and for whom Poet dedicates his most emotional song to date, "Never Goodbye" off the new album.
