Comment: We could go on and on but it all comes down to preference at this point. Granted yeah... past and present, cool but the LEVEL of the past emcees (excluding Ra and G Rap, and KRIS and a FEW others) lets say all those you mentioned PLUS... I am thinking about how I rock HipHop NOW. Those cats have always been dope but COULD... and I repeat COULD they impress me NOW???? Today. I liked KMD for the content in the 90s but now it is all lyrics and sick beats for me. Could BDK sting DOOM today? Could Masta Ace... could Schooly? The answer... a resounding no. Honestly. No direspect but DOOM is the truth... do you see OTHERS overrating him or do YOU? I didn't LOVE Chicago cuz Jordan played there, I LOVE the Lakers... cuz I always have. Like THAT. No bandwagon jumping I actually love the dude's flow. Like fried chicken in my mama's kitchen. Many try but the longer she cooks, the better she gets ;). Comment: @TheBALL I don't look at just present. What you've done in the past counts for more points to me. And doom has never and never will reach G Rap in his prime. Be like saying Roy Jones would of knocked out Tyson. And G Rap just one of many emcees that come to my mind that are over doom. I like some doom, but I think he truly is the most overrated emcee in the game. Chuck D, Schoolly D, Rakim, BDK, Masta Ace, Kool Keith, Sean Price, RA The Rugged Man, Percee P, Guilty Simpson. Just some current and past that come to my mind. And I didn't even add any Wu-Tang or D.I.T.C. members. Which we all know is over and beyond doom as well. |

Rap but he has NOT impressed me LATELY an duntil and up to that point and actually probably still not to surpass DOOM. Listen to Zev, then listen to DOOM... "I owe it to a well refined rhyme flow". Dude is serious and he cannot be matched. I will give you that though, Sir. G. Rap is still ill (still rockin my best of Cold Chillin' double joint at least once a month) but no one is DOOM. |
