How do you expect Wu-Tang to put out another 36 Chambers or Forever, it's not going to happen. Listen to the music for what it is. I think that if you like the Wu artists then you also get a good sample of young tough artists coming up today on this album. Also, remember that the Wu's music had a different effect on you 15 years ago, you were a younger man in a different part of your life. If you were 35 or 40 years old at that time then those albums probably wouldn't have had the same impact on you. |

Some cats continue to compare new Wu-Tang releases to the classics from 15 years ago. How can you compare music, let alone men to who they were 15 years ago?! Some cats will never understand these men have evolved into men with different lives, goals and perspectives. Wu-Tang was THE absolute best hip-hop group of their generation. Nobody can stay on top forever, that's how it is. And that's for the simple reason that most younger cats won't be able to relate to a bunch of 40 year old rappers. Music does transcends ages but not always and for everyone. If you compare this album, then compare it to other hip-hop of this time and then you will see that these are, maybe not classics, but still high quality releases. |

Besides the fact that's it's the Clan, their affiliates, and featured guest I honestly wasn't dissapointed with this album at all. Especially when NEVER FEEL THIS PAIN, 225 ROUNDS, ONLY THE RUGGED SURVIVE (Amen RZA), and that cool ass shit METEOR HAMMER (Termanology got down and Onyx, Pete Rock, Chuck D SHUT 'EM DOWN) stayed on repeat. Legendary Weapons was what I expected from the Wu-Tang Clan and who knows...maybe 20 or 30 years from now those brothas will probably still sound better than any new jack comin' out. I mean since 93' I'm damn near impressed with the consistency that each one of the members (and their affiliates) has lyrically when their rappin'...that's the cool shit about the Clan too. You could see a track with Masta Killa and Deck or U-God and Gza and anybody else from the Clan and you already know shit's gon'
be dope. Top that shit off with a bangin' ass beat and you got exactly what hip-hop music should sound like, classic and undeniably unforgetable. The Clan's style of rhyme is the same but they all bring an element to rappin' which makes anyone of the members stand out and makes them different from the next man in their group, hence the term seperate but equal. This shit is dope, point blank period! Peace to the Wu-Tang Clan!!!! |

Comment: Kinda disagree with you Klaus and you're entitled to your opinion about the Legendary Weapons album, but you said Legendary Weapons is wacker than 36 Chambers?! First off Enter the 36 Chambers was a dope and classic album...a breakthrough in hip-hop music and the culture. Second you sayin' the Clan's current sound (I'm assuming you mean current albums and projects) lack the energy, diversity, and lyrical mastery but I disagree on that homie. Them boy's still got! You can listen to "WE WILL ROB YOU" with the GZA, Rae, Slick Rick, and Masta Killa off the OBFCL 2 album or FROM THE HILLS with Rae and Meth from the Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang album or most of GFK's albums and clearly see that even in 2011 most rappers can't even flow like the members of the Clan can or their affiliates. I find it funny how people be knockin' the Wu-Tang Clan and comparin' their albums and sayin' that the W, Iron Flag, or 8 Diagrams doesn't sound like this or that album but the truth of the matter is people be talkin' shit but they go and buy Deck's album or GZA's shit, or Cappadonna's shit, or Shyhiem and PR Terrorist shit. Truth of the matter is yall talk shit but can't for them albums to drop and go get 'em. And you talkin' about GZA aint on the album but you don't know what kind of situation homeboi could've been in to not be included on the album like family issues or etc. Voice your opinion by all means but give respect where it's due man. From time to time kids with no knowledge of hip hop are talkin' garbage. I didn't say that this album is wack. Talkin' about diversity, the Wu (except GFK) has not dropped a hot album since the late 90's. Their current sound lacks the energy/diversity/lyrical mastery that made them the most important rap group of the nineties. In my opinion "Legendary Weapons" is wacker than 36 Chambers, Wu Tang Forever and may be compared probably with the Iron Flag album. Wu has dropped, not a wack album, but yet again a disappointing one. It sounds more like a compilation. And with all due respect, where is GZA? The Genius doesn't appear on none of the "Legendary Weapons" tracks... Again, in my opinion that's wack. An Wu Tang album without The Gza? Come on... what the fuck is that? I'm a Wu fan since '93 and a hip hop fan since 1990. I would like to see the Wu back again with a strong product, this one is definitely not what I've expected... |

I heard the entire album, I was not impressed but at the same time is not that bad. Probably 3.8-3.9 stars is a fair review. The lyrics are in the Wu style, the beats are better than on the W or 8 Diagrams album. Legendary Weapons stands somewhere between Wu Tang Forever and Iron Flag... (I read the early review n*gga) and now you hollerin' WU-TANG IS ONE OF THE GREATEST GROUPS IN HIP-HOP...THAT IS NOT DISPUTED! You can't make up your mind can you? At least G up and give the Clan their props, besides you probably haven't even heard the album yet so why even diss? Matter of fact n*gga when yo wack ass album(LIAR.AMONGST.REAL.SCHOLARS)gon' drop so I can buy the shit, burn it after listenin' to it, and roast yo ass on UGHH for poor skills on the mic and for using that weak ass Playskool equipment you use for production on what you call beats? Comment: I'ont even see how people can shit on the Clan, I mean whether this album is good or not take this in consideration. The Wu has been in the game since '93, that's already damn near 20 years. Most early rap acts from 79'-87' aint even see another prosperous album or make the kinda money that most hip-hop artist made in '93 or even now. Look at Grandmaster Flash, Kool Moe Dee, Schooly D just to name a few. They were single acts in early hip-hop. Aint really see much of groups, crews, clicks, and clans until maybe the 80's (with the exception of Afrika Bambata and the Zulu Nation) my point is you can ask anybody from the West, to the East, the South, the North, damn near worldwide and ask 'em to name 5 of the greatest rap groups ever put together I bet you they holla Wu-Tang. I'ont really give a fuck about what they had or don't have now cause we all have our share of fucked up days. I'm looking at it as far the legacy them dudes left and the mark they made in hip-hop culture period. That's a dope as tale of the tape and you can't talk blasphemy on that one! Give credit, props, and respect where it's due! J.U.-ICE |

Iron Flag was peace as well but it wasn't what I expected. They may have outdone themselves on WU4Evr. That was as close to taking over the world as any HipHop collective will ever be... EVER. Nothing was doper or more poignant at the time and if the militia had formed I would have headed our local chapter. That album was landmarking. THIS... this here better be RZA's return to WU-TANG. His digital sound is a dolo thing. That is for him... not for THEM. Pretty please... ONLY grimy... slimy... gritty... bite titty Wu Tang styling allowed!!!! Please... Lets see what happens when this plate rotates. Let's all agree to meet back here to discuss. I am depending on real relevant response and not dick riding placation. |

Comment: With the Clan you always gon' have people that approve or disapprove of their sound. Don't really think they lost anything, just think they've been watchin' the game and studyin' how hip-hop is evolving. I for one still think Rae, Masta, and Inspektah Deck are beast lyrically so to me they don't need to follow or study any of these new jack rap acts' formulas. Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang is one of the best albums this year in my opinion (Meth was hungry again on "FROM THE HILLS") and whatever them dudes are facing as a collective I hope they can bury that shit and put aside their differences and continue to make dope music. Dirty aint here no more so I hope they understand that one day you here and the next you gone so they need to keep that Wu banner rollin' as a team! J.U.-ICE |

Ever since then, the albums they have put out are not really up to par and the old wutang sound disappeared. With that being said, I do think that all of the members can come together and make a dope album IF everyone is on the same page and the beats are consistent/grimy. I.E Raekwon (shaolin vs wu tang). That album was well put together. lyrics and beats were consistent. the only beef I have with that album is the guest spots but all in all it was great album. If this new Wu album can follow suit, then I think everyone will be pleased. After all, Wu-tang clan aint nothin to f*** wit!! |

They should put more promotion into this, especially now after their good streak of albums: OB4CL2, Apollo Kids, Chamber Music, Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang.
It will probably be something along the lines of what Chamber Music was, a short album with members of the Clan and a good line-up of guests (Sean Price, AZ, Cormega, MOP, Kool G Rap probably Nas, Redman, Busta Rhymes will be featured too) |

Please please please come raw with it. no 8 Diagrams (which was good in its own way), type shit. Wu Wang vs Shaolin should hopefully get rzas head out of the clouds. Or out of his ass. Either way I havent heard Rza do his thing the right way since Paper Plates. And meth needs to rap like hes hungry again. Ghost, Rae, Masta Kill, Deck and Gza still got it, but U God Meth and Rza need to get back right again. |
