Name: yawners (Posted: 2/24/2012 4:20:00 PM; Partial IP: 111.14.162) Location: dmv Comment: @grounded: I bought the diamond district, before taxes immediately after their release. before taxes is *ok* ... it's nothing amazing, but it's better than this. *this is only my opinion*, but i'm putting my opinion out there because I feel this LP is very overrated. gensu dean...i'm trying to give him him a shot but nothing is really that bangin' yet...i wish I could love this stuff as much as everyone on here, but c'mon...the has-lo LP blows this out of the water easily. and you want to know how much i'm missing it? I gave this album another listen after reading so many reviews about it and I can't make it through a single song w/o rolling my eyes and skipping to the next. if you find r&b choruses annoying (like me), this is not the LP for you. |
Name: Grounded (Posted: 2/24/2012 5:00:00 AM; Partial IP: 22.125.132) Location: DMV Comment: Man, some people is missing it! This is one of my favorite albums. If U Down, Time Machine, Write On, I Believe, Blind, Delay are all amazing songs. Dude below can't even say that with a straight face if he heard Before Taxes, DTMD, or that new one I just got Gensu Dean. MMG is killin it from all angles: bangers, grimy, intelligent. Beastin'! |
Name: yawners (Posted: 2/22/2012 8:39:00 PM; Partial IP: 111.14.162) Location: DMV Comment: on a scale from 1-5 stars, stuff that I wouldn't even listen to is somewhere in the negative stars. that said, I give this 2. every song that starts sounding ok is killed halfway through with some annoying r&b chorus. I bought the 3 best-sounding tracks in the form of an mp3 while I waited for my copy to arrive because the snippets sounded alright, and I got tired of listening to those before my vinyl even arrived. currently this is sitting in my ebay stack, it's money green vinyl so it should sell. *boring* bring back the diamond district vibe from the first LP please. it seems like if oddisee or apollo brown isn't associated with anything out of MMG, it falls flat. |

One of the most lyrical emcees alive today, seems like yu always has something heavy to say and in an interesting way. Definite favorite after just a few days of listening on constant repeat. |

Rachael. You will have to wait until 13th to get a physical copy. I would check out any Exclusive Company in your local area. Otherwise there is one right off Brady and North in Milwaukee. |
